| Who: Everyone! Open to All What: Holiday Mingle Log When: the holiday season Where: Locations in comments, or add your own. Tonight, dreams take the form of the winter holidays. Everything is imagined in grand scale, from a winter wonderlandscape to a glorious feast, to gifts under the tree and the inevitable mistletoe. All of everyone's favorite things have made their way into the dreams. And it feels so vivid and real. (ooc: This is a post to keep threads together for winter holiday antics. Separate posts are also fine, and this one is optional. Feel free to use the location subthreads as prompts, or to add something entirely different. These include hints of the dreams crossing into waking life; those are small and entirely optional as well.) |

| It was a night like any other. The sun had long set as "Masumi," on her way home from the one of Juuban's photo labs -- had spotted a youma draining the life force from an innocent bystander! And obviously she couldn't have that! As she held her hand in the air, she transformed into the sailor suited soldier of love and justice... Sailor Mnemosyne!
She sprinted forward, confident that she would reach the scene in time before it was too late. Jumping up to the roof with the moonlight shining at her back, she called out bravely -- "Hold it right there!" Striking a pose, she sized up the monster below, and took note of the captive in its grip. "Picking on those who want to reminisce about loved ones is disgraceful! One of the most precious things is recalling times of spent with friends and family! In the name of the river of memories, Mnemosyne, Sailor Mnemosyne won't forgive you!"
( 'syne's new career just so happens to be that of a legit sailorsenshi!! replies as allies, enemies or even those mistaken as the 'youma' are welcome ;] ) |

| For a pet shop, it's oddly quiet. But the animals seem contented, many laying down or catching a nap with their fluffy tails curled around themselves. The awake ones lightly paw at their long ears or attentively watch passers-by. They all seem to be in good spirits. They're also all the same breed, with soft and luxurious fur and cutely mischievous expressions. Swirled markings on their fur create a somewhat dramatic effect. Amid the innumerable myriad cages is Homura, dressed in a uniform and apron that suggest she works here. She does not look particularly like the nurturing sort for her charges. Instead, she stands against the wall nearest the door, with her arms folded across her chest. Once or twice, she bangs on the bars of one of the cages with her hand. (ooc: pictures of the cute animals) |

| Heavy footfalls resounded through the halls of the Fortress of Solitude, the cavernous halls of the building magnifying the sound. They sped up as Superman felt something was just a bit off, and when he entered the main hall he stopped and stared. The gigantic memorial of Krypton, supported by statues of Jor-El and Lara, his long dead parents, had been replaced…
By a gigantic jawbreaker being held aloft by peanut brittle likenesses of his parents.
“What,” he all but shouted, looking around the room for intruders. And it was then that it hit him. It wasn’t just the memorial, it was the entire fortress. The ice caverns had mysteriously changed into translucent rock candy, the chairs were constructed entirely out of solid peppermint, and there were boxes upon boxes of sweets of all shapes and sizes all over the floor, stacked neatly into every open space.
“…What’s going on here?”
He had to be dreaming. There really couldn’t be any other explanation, but then again maybe Mr. Mxyzptlk was up to his old tricks… |

| Who: Everyone! Open to All. World inhabitants can be npc'd as needed. What: World Exploration : Suggestion Info hereWhen: all through November and beyond Where: Locations in comments, or add your own. There are whole new worlds out there. Some people know this already, some are learning it for the first time. Tonight, it's a world of mystery where nothing seems to work entirely by normal logic and everything familiar from waking life can become different . Flowers have a temper and may not like being picked, animals wear dapper clothes, and all of them talk. Some of them are helpful.
Whether flitting around the edges of this world at the Rabbit Hole or the Entryway, caught up in the Mad Hatter's tea party, taken to the Castle of the Queen of Hearts, the Croquet Ground, or somewhere entirely different, it's Wonderland. Be careful: The signs shouldn't always be obeyed.(Notes: This is a log to keep together threads exploring Wonderland. Relevant threads can also be made as separate posts throughout the rest of the month or beyond. Mostly, this is an experiment to see how a mass log will work for world exploring. As usual with OPN, it is entirely optional and creative liberty is fine and encouraged while working within the setting. Feel free to use the location notes as prompts, but also feel free to do something else entirely. More world suggestions always accepted here.) - Tags:!mingle, !world: wonderland, ami mizuno [v2], dale [v1], homura akemi [v1], howard bassem [v2], master chief [v2], minako aino [v2], mnemosyne [v1], reno [v2], sakaya miki [v1]

| It was late afternoon at the Ranger tree. Dale snapped to attention, one hand to the wheel and the other, the throttle. What was he doing again? The Ranger Wing Gadget was working on....oh yeah! He'd show Gadget he had a knack for this flying stuff! He tapped the gyroscope on the dash thoughtfully. Just gotta make sure all systems are go... he passed over all the gizmos, making sure this one blinked and that one spun. Dale's gaze wondered over the windshield, out into that great dreamscape of the unknown. It was like one of those video game landscapes that only rendered as you passed through it, a whole new world, a whole new trail to blaze. He sucked in a breath, sticking out his chest importantly as he glanced over his shoulder, waving back at Gadget, or maybe it was Chip. "Rrrready!" The words escaped him mechanically, just as the engines revved. As he focused on depressing the throttle to the correct level, the dash suddenly shifted in shape. He had taken careful note of those controls! "Eh?" He breathed, hoping to dismiss it with a blink. The Ranger Wing shot off the landing strip, and Dale was attempting to level the plane. Turn off the thrusters! NO, the button is GONE!? He then attempted to adjust the throttle. Locked. Wheel? Locked!? With a terrified cry Dale tried the ejection seats. Before it hit the ground in a heap, the chipmunk tumbled out from the wreckage, unscathed. Dale sat up and readjusted his googles, popping out the glass on both eyepieces after noticing they had been trashed. |

| [it must be a dream.
whatever this place is, it seems to go on forever, and it's all indescribably beautiful. the sky is an incredible blue, the small lake is deep and clear, and a forest made of crystal, shining...
a woman with golden hair is sitting in a little black dress in the small temple on the island in the center of the lake, staring at everything and nothing. she doesn't seem concerned or alarmed, but restful. peaceful.
she leans back with a contented sigh, playing with a lock of her hair with both hands as if they're not used to sitting still and doing nothing. but she refuses to give in, and breathes deeply and slowly. peace is clearly not something she's used to, and though she doesn't recognize this place, she'll accept its gift.
it must be a dream. nowhere she's ever been in waking has ever compared.] |

| She's running. As her legs pump against the ground, they can't seem to carry her fast enough. Far away from that psycho transfer student that was trying to murder the poor... thing that Madoka carried in her arms. Sayaka tightened her grip around her friend's hand as she pulled her forward, her mind constantly going back to the weird powers Akemi seemed to possess. Just... who was that girl?! Suddenly, the surroundings seemed to fade away. The basement-esque appearance of the mall's sub floor seemed to all but fade away, leaving an odd, twisted world in their place. Strange creatures began to flit about as the blue-haired girl slowed down, her eyes widening in horror. "Th... this isn't real, is it?! Madoka! I'm having a nightmare, aren't I?!" Sayaka spun to face her friend, to pull her close for protection and comfort. But the pink haired girl was no where to be found. "Where's the emergency exit?!" |

| [ Sometimes dreams aren't particularly exciting and there's really nothing going on. The setting is peaceful enough as it's just lightly breezy day with clear blue skies. Harry's sitting cross-legged up on a hill over looking a great black lake. ]
[ That's all, no running or screaming or horrible nightmares from that past June. Peace and quiet. At least... for now. ] |

| [Something about this place is a little...well, spooky! There's a big, dark forest, filled with bare trees and shadows that could be hiding just about anything. If you follow the path that winds through this forest, you'll reach the town square, which is surrounded by buildings that look more like part of a graveyard than a city (and if you're looking for an actual graveyard, it's down the small path to the right). At the center of it all is a decorative fountain...though the animals look like they might bite!
Oh, but it's not all bad. There's a certain joy in the air to go with all the fright. The spooky spirit of this world forever lit by a bright moon may remind you, if your world has it, of a certain holiday. So don't be afraid - or do! After all, getting scared is just part of the fun of Halloween.
At least you won't have to explore this haunted locale alone. There's one little boy running around in a scary costume, though one much simpler than his older self will wear, who seems more than ready to go trick or treating.
Even those of you who might know Halloween Town will realize that this world is not an exact copy; many landmarks are missing, and a few pieces of the islands (is that a coconut on the ground over there?) have slipped into Sora's imagining of a world based on a holiday. Will you come with him to explore it? Or hide from the ghosts and goblins lurking in the shadows?] |
