| Who: Everyone! Open to All What: Adventure classic mingle logs When: Any time. Most probably fantasy middle ages. Where: Cities, castles, caves, towns, dungeons, forests, temples, lairs, camps... Your classic fantasy setting.
Some of you might be familiar with these dreams. Castles set upon hills watching over towns and kingdoms, dragons soaring the skies; and you, of course, as an adventurer armed with sword, spellbook, or cape, and exploring all of these places. There are towns to save, hills and forests to explore, bands of orcs and goblins to stop, and evil to be fought.
With all of these adventures? There is treasure. There is always treasure.
Caution goes to the the unwary adventurer that wanders around the woods, or the one that dwells deep within the caves and dungeons of kings and tyrants still sleeping. In these caverns and palaces left long gone for centuries lies gold, just as well as beasts and monsters that will guard these places, and don't think for a moment these places will not be filled with traps or undead just as well.
(ooc: This is a post to keep threads together for the Adventure Classic theme. Separate posts are also fine, and this one is optional. Feel free to have your characters retain their role, or assume new ones, for the adventures you will toss them at.) |

| [Christmas may have come and gone, but this dream is still full of unwrapped presents. They're everywhere, all in big boxes, lined up on all the walls, stacked in the corners and, of course, piled high under the brightly lit tree in the center of the room. Though the soft glow of this tree somehow illuminates the entire room, you better watch your step!
Oh, yes, because it's not only brightly wrapped boxes you have to worry about stepping on. You see, most of these presents are for a certain little boy. That boy has already made a fair dent in his pile of gifts...and there's a reason the boxes are so big! Each one, so far, has contained a small baby animal. They aren't normal animals, though; some look like kittens or little flowers, or strange bunnies or flying foals!
Or the puppy...kitten...SOMETHING that refuses to leave Sora's side. Or stop licking his face, for that matter!
But that's far from all; there are a whole bunch of these strange baby creatures wandering around, though none are fully grown (and some of the aquatic ones even seem to be floating through the air, though there are plenty of water tanks around, too...).
They seem to be looking for friends...and how in the world is Sora going to take care of them all by himself? Maybe he needs some help!
Besides, look around. There may be a present or two for you in here.] |

| Who: Everyone! Open to All What: Holiday Mingle Log When: the holiday season Where: Locations in comments, or add your own. Tonight, dreams take the form of the winter holidays. Everything is imagined in grand scale, from a winter wonderlandscape to a glorious feast, to gifts under the tree and the inevitable mistletoe. All of everyone's favorite things have made their way into the dreams. And it feels so vivid and real. (ooc: This is a post to keep threads together for winter holiday antics. Separate posts are also fine, and this one is optional. Feel free to use the location subthreads as prompts, or to add something entirely different. These include hints of the dreams crossing into waking life; those are small and entirely optional as well.) |

| [Something about this place is a little...well, spooky! There's a big, dark forest, filled with bare trees and shadows that could be hiding just about anything. If you follow the path that winds through this forest, you'll reach the town square, which is surrounded by buildings that look more like part of a graveyard than a city (and if you're looking for an actual graveyard, it's down the small path to the right). At the center of it all is a decorative fountain...though the animals look like they might bite!
Oh, but it's not all bad. There's a certain joy in the air to go with all the fright. The spooky spirit of this world forever lit by a bright moon may remind you, if your world has it, of a certain holiday. So don't be afraid - or do! After all, getting scared is just part of the fun of Halloween.
At least you won't have to explore this haunted locale alone. There's one little boy running around in a scary costume, though one much simpler than his older self will wear, who seems more than ready to go trick or treating.
Even those of you who might know Halloween Town will realize that this world is not an exact copy; many landmarks are missing, and a few pieces of the islands (is that a coconut on the ground over there?) have slipped into Sora's imagining of a world based on a holiday. Will you come with him to explore it? Or hide from the ghosts and goblins lurking in the shadows?] |

| [This dream begins on an island. A small, quiet island, with a beautiful beach and plenty of greenery. The area is full of palm trees growing star-shaped fruit. Close your eyes, and you hear nothing but the waves and the occasional seagull. It's a nice, cloudless day, and the sun shines brightly. A sleeping boy with black hair opens his eyes, which are still as golden as ever, and yawns. It feels as if he's been sleeping for awhile, and he blinks as his eyes adjust to the light. His mind, as alert as it always is, soon catches up. He knows this place. Vanitas quickly stands and looks around, and... His clothes aren't the first thing he notices, though they have changed. The bodysuit that he had never taken off was gone, replaced by black pants and a black and white long-sleeved shirt. His mask was nowhere in sight. But there was something that he was far more attuned to than his physical appearance that leaves him standing in place, eyes wide with shock that he hasn't even considered trying to bring under control yet. A certain thumping in his chest. Vanitas knows what it is. There isn't even a moment of doubt. His heart. His true, complete heart. Vanitas' body wasn't even that of a creature of darkness anymore; his shock produced no monsters. The questions he should be asking himself haven't come yet. If you walk far enough (should you walk to this next place, rather than from it), the greenery begins to fade. The ground starts to become dusty and cracked. Rock formations rise up all around, defining the landscape and overlooking the area. Giant keys, faded but once powerful, can be found intermittently throughout as you walk. Eventually, it becomes plainly obvious that you aren't on an island. This dream begins in a graveyard.
Probably the only actually interesting feature of this graveyard wasteland is the fact the the sea of keys parts at one point, becoming a four-way crossroad. And that is where the second boy is. He is sprawled out only in what can be called a bodysuit with a helmet by his side.
He doesn't move, not at first. Instead, he stares up at the sky, eyes wide. But it's not surprise--not entirely. It's partly fear. Because something is wrong, something is very wrong. The heart beating in his chest is just plain off. There is nothing but darkness, not a single speck of light. His heart should collapse, but it doesn't. And that is strange.
And perhaps reacting to that are the creatures spawning, a handful of rabbits and pots. All of them dangerous. All of them scurrying or bobbing around until the moment he finally sits up, a hand over his heart--or what's left of it. Then, they stand at attention.
And Sora isn't sure what to do.] |

| [This dream starts in what appears to be a cave, though a very small one, much taller than it is long or wide. It doesn't seem all that cramped or scary, though - light filters in from the outside, thanks to a hole in the stone at the top, and the walls are easy to see.
Actually, for a tiny cave, this place is fairly inviting. Moss grows on some of the rocks, and the area feels safe rather than closed-in, like a little hiding spot that you can go in and out of at any point. In fact, that's exactly what it is. Should you go to the opening, which is a very short walk, you'll find that it opens to the outside; a small, peaceful tropical island.
But good luck getting outside before a certain someone notices that you're there. A little boy, who some may recognize as Sora, is sitting comfortably near one of the walls of the cave. He picks up a piece of chalk and starts drawing what...looks like an attempt that drawing some kind of animal. In fact, the walls are covered in these drawings; childish scribbles of animals and adventures and stars.
There's also something else strange about this cave; a door, built right into the very back. No, not built - it looks like it belongs there, or has always been there. But what could it be for?
Well, whatever it is, it's not opening anytime soon. Besides, Sora has put down his chalk, already standing up and looking right at your before you have much of a chance to investigate anything.
Talk to the small, slightly confused looking child?] |
