[ Sometimes dreams aren't particularly exciting and there's really nothing going on. The setting is peaceful enough as it's just lightly breezy day with clear blue skies. Harry's sitting cross-legged up on a hill over looking a great black lake. ]

[ That's all, no running or screaming or horrible nightmares from that past June. Peace and quiet. At least... for now. ]

[Homura has no complaints. Her waking nights are full of enough chaos and battle; a peaceful dream is a rarity to be appreciated. She climbs the hill slowly, in no hurry, and rests at the top. She ends up near Harry, and dredges up a polite nothing appropriate for the situation.]

It's a very beautiful view, after the hike up to the top.

[ He glances over at her and then back out at the lake. ]

Oh.. yeah...

Just needed... quiet, I guess.

You were coming here to be alone? [She presents this as a consideration, as if she'd be equally likely to leave him if he asks, as to stay simply because it's a peaceful location.]

Not alone... exactly. [ Or was it alone? ]

Just.. away from things.. h-had a lot on my plate recently.

[braidstobows]

[Not alone means Homura will sit beside Harry, and take another look at the landscape before speaking again.]

There will always be a great many things that need to be done, or watched over.

[hero_complexed]

Yeah, but I should be safe in my own dreams, right? Usually I'm not... but it seems like tonight's a little different.

[braidstobows]

[Homura hesitates, but caution wins out - especially with the strange dreams she'd had herself, dreams that hint at worlds, or times, when everything she fought so hard for was still at risk.

She asks a question instead of answering.]

Do you value that safety and peace?

[hero_complexed]

[ He thinks on it for a minute before nodding ]

Yeah, I mean.. my world's going to Hell-or it seems that way... so this is.. nice.

If you value it, then you should never take it for granted, or believe it will last solely because you wish for it to. That kind of wishing is the most dangerous.

I don't expect it-in fact I kind of expect nightmares-things I've seen and a weird hallway- so when I get something like this... best to enjoy it, right?

Harry Potter. [And Homura turns to look directly at him now.] What are these nightmares made of?

[hero_complexed]

Mostly Voldemort.

[braidstobows]

[It sounds like a name - one name, Homura notes. There is one person who is the source of Harry's fears, in the end, whatever other forms they may take.]

Are you preparing to go against him?

[hero_complexed]

I've been against him-but right now no one will believe me so I'm more... waiting for him to make a move.

[braidstobows]

[She imagines the consequences if she were to wait before challenging a witch - or now, a demon.]

He can't be let go forever.

[hero_complexed]

He's not. But no one believes me and I have to stay in school.

[braidstobows]

[Homura considers this. For herself, going to school had been a way to watch over Madoka. Without that, she hasn't seen the point in going. She knows the lessons by now - she's repeated them often enough with each timeline - and she never cared nearly as much for any of the other classmates.]

Is there a reason you need to stay in the school?

[hero_complexed]

Well.. yeah. I'm still underage. Underaged wizards aren't allow to do magic outside of school.

Besides, running away now would be like... letting the Voldemort win. Plus, what would the prophet say? No, I have to stay.

It wouldn't be running away, if the purpose was to prepare for your true battle.

I still wouldn't have the proper training. Not that there's a good Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher this year-makes us copy everything directly from the book.

[braidstobows]

[Ew. Even worse than repeating it endless times. She'd be bored out of her mind.]

I understand your difficulties.

[hero_complexed]

Uh... thanks... I.. guess.

[braidstobows]

Of course, this allows you to complete the work easily and quickly, and have the remainder of the time to yourself.

[And guess who's coming up behind him and sitting down, crossing her legs underneath her. She doesn't say anything for a while, just looks out at the black lake before looking over at him. Of course she already knows the answer to the question that she is about to ask him but she wants to break the silence. Sometimes quiet just unnerves her.]

What are you thinking about, Harry?

[ He looks over at her as she sits down but doesn't bother to say anything until she's the first to speak. In answer he just kind of shrugs his shoulders. ]

How peaceful it it right now. It's nice not having to worry about thing for once.

[At that she just nods and gives him a small smile before turning to look out over the lake]

Yes, it is rather peaceful isn't it. It's moments like these that I remember when times are hard. That this is what all the fighting is for. Peace.
