[008 ☿] Cliff-Diving

[There's a gorgeous view from up here: a rocky cliff face overlooking the sea. The breeze plays with her hair as Ami waits at the very highest point, right on the edge. She looks down, an angle likely to give vertigo but she only grins broader.

She's going to jump.

She lets go, and her body suddenly looks so small against the backdrop of open sky as she plummets towards the water and sinks beneath the waves. The movement is a thrilling rush and the moment she's immersed, she smiles. She lets herself stay there, savoring the feeling, and she rises to the surface only reluctantly and belatedly.]

(ooc: not necessarily theme, but I'm open to theme antics as well if anyone wanted to catch her here for them; let me know)

Well, besides the fact they are dreams... and when you fall the body will automatically wake you up from said dream. And the fact that you could do whatever you want in a dream and as long as your mind knows it's a dream you can be as reckless as you want without consequences...

[Really, sometimes he just doesn't know what to do with Ami. One moment he thinks he's got her figured out, the next she pulls stuff like this.

It's not that he's too worried about her, but when he notices her jumping, he just cannot help but immediately go "OH CRAP" and rush over. For a moment, when she doesn't surface, he's shocked and it feels like everything has collapsed upon him--

Then she emerges, and he pretty much snaps right back to normal.]

The hell, Ami?! You could've gotten killed!

[After this long, Ami should be used to Laharl worrying about her beneath that snappishness. But for a moment, it takes her completely by surprise.

This, of course, cannot be allowed. Or at least, it can't be allowed to show.]

The water won't hurt me.

[She says it confidently, arrogantly; as though there was never anything dangerous in what she was doing.]

Well, warn me next time if you're going to randomly jump off cliffs! [True, but he'd just disguise his worry as worry over losing an awesome servant who can break holes in the fabric of reality, which wouldn't fool anyone.]

[Vanille's hair bounces in the wind as she's suddenly standing on top of a cliff. She watches as Mercury's body starts falling forward, almost as if it were in slow motion. There's a crash of waves heard from up top, so she knows that she's going to be doing some recreational diving.

She goes over towards the edge and looks at the figure getting smaller and smaller]

Ooooh....

[And since it's a dream, there's only a short pause before Ami is walking back up. Her voice comes from behind Vanille.]

[She turns around and looks at her. She looks back down at the water. Well, she's done far more dangerous things]

Okay!

[She starts taking off her Nirvana rod and excess belts, bracelets, beads, shoes and pelt until she's just left with her skirt and top.]

[She walks over towards the edge and bites her lip for a second]

[it's a dream. About water and shore and he's walking along it. There's a wild, restless feeling in the air though and so it's not exactly peaceful. Almost... as if there's a storm coming in. He's just lifting his head to look at the horizon, a slight line between his eyebrows as he frowns - when a body falls past him.

He has time for his eyes to go wide, and then he's blinking water from his eyelashes because even at a distance that was a bit of a splash. Somehow, when the head rises out of the water, he's not surprised:]

[Her hair slicked back as it's wet, Ami swims towards the shore until she can stand and walk. As soon as she regains her feet, she shoots Cloud that pert smile.]

[to say Cloud had never done anything crazy or risky in his life would have been a blatant lie but he likes to think that he at least usually has a reason for most of them. So his eyebrows go up mildly and then he slowly turns his attention on the cliff, looking up to see how high it goes. Which is - pretty high.]

My mother always asked 'if everyone jumps off a cliff would you too?'.

[holding just a hint of humor, he'll focus on the woman in front of him and ask dryly:]

Cue a bit of flailing. When Ami rises to the surface, Marlene rushes to the edge.]

Ohmigosh! Are you okay? Did you get hurt? Do I need to go find someone? [breathe, breathe, breathe.]

[Ami had, quite honestly, not expected anyone to worry for her. For one thing, she'd thought she was alone. For another, who'd worry about if she was doing well?

So Marlene earns a swift, surprised look before the faint, almost-teasing smile replaces it as her normal mask.]

It's alright. I didn't do it to scare you, but, it was also safe for me.

Don't try it until you're older, alright?

[She clasped her hands in front of her.] It seemed so dangerous. I don't think I'll ever try it.

[ Aerith is floating in the water, far enough away to not be in Ami's landing area -- and possibly not even register for notice -- but she's close enough that the falling body grabs her attention. When she jolts she loses her balance and is submerged for a few seconds before she bobs back up, calling: ]

[Ami treads water where she surfaces, quite calmly. Her lips spread in a smirk once Aerith emerges as well.]

[ Although, when she considers what she's just said, she has a good laugh at herself, leaning back into her float. ] But maybe it's time for me to start getting used to it.

[Oh, Yui. You really don't better if you call her not-crazy. Ami grins anyway, and makes a small splash in the water that somehow shoots up the full height of the cliff.]

[Axel's hanging back against the rockface, as far away from the edge as he can get. The look on his face is one of sullen discontent, an expression directed at the waves far below him.]
