[008 ☿] Cliff-Diving

[There's a gorgeous view from up here: a rocky cliff face overlooking the sea. The breeze plays with her hair as Ami waits at the very highest point, right on the edge. She looks down, an angle likely to give vertigo but she only grins broader.

She's going to jump.

She lets go, and her body suddenly looks so small against the backdrop of open sky as she plummets towards the water and sinks beneath the waves. The movement is a thrilling rush and the moment she's immersed, she smiles. She lets herself stay there, savoring the feeling, and she rises to the surface only reluctantly and belatedly.]

(ooc: not necessarily theme, but I'm open to theme antics as well if anyone wanted to catch her here for them; let me know)

[It seems as though he's not going to even acknowledge the offer at first- but after a short pause, Axel arches one eyebrow replies, voice carrying just as well, so that it's loud enough to sound as though he's swimming right next to Ami.]

It's not the quality of the stuff I'm worried about, though.

[He recognises that challenge. It's something hard to ignore, actually, and he turns his face away. No way in hell is he even touching that water. Uh uh.]

[He rolls his eyes, then tips his head back and wipes one hand down his face- the perfect picture of annoyance. He's had time to practise, to get good at faking these sorts of things- but in dreams they come naturally, without him even being aware of it.]

[A frown sits on Axel's face for barely a moment longer- and then it's replaced by a small smirk.

A few seconds pass, and then he's walking towards the edge of the cliff.]

Just gotta dive, right?

Just gotta dive. [She uses his words deliberately, and her lips spread the smile wider. Come on, Axel. Dive right in. The water won't hurt you.

Just probably still won't be a favorite place for a guy used to fire instead.]

[Oh, but she only said dive. Nothing about water.

Axel's smirk widens as he looks down over the edge, raising one hand and focusing on a particular point about halfway down the cliff, directly below him. Within a couple of seconds, up springs a dark portal- which he promptly dives towards.

It's not as graceful a dive as Ami's, but it's graceful enough to not embarrass him- and Axel's aim is dead on.

[He appears again on the beach, far enough from the waters edge to look calm, cocky and downright self-satisfied.

Nevermind the fact that he near fell out of that portal, she probably didn't see. Probably.]

Of course I enjoy it. Swimming is my favorite sport and one of my hobbies.

The trick to this attack, is that it's so very guided. Even as the victim ducks and dodges, the streams of water pop and snap as they change direction, too - ultimately heading towards his rear end.]
