001;

[Anya is sitting behind the counter of the Magic Box, like she does most days. And she's going over one of the ledgers like she has been lately since Giles keeps making her double check everything. But she's still watching the patrons out of the corner of her eye.

If there's one thing Anya hates, it's people who loiter around and never buy anything. They are the leeches of Capitalist society, as far as she's concerned.
]

If you don't want to be thrown out of the store, I highly recommend you actually purchase something.

Nope. Just special.

He takes the book, paging through it with curious eyes. Spellwork, okay then. That's not exactly what he was expecting but he'll go with it.

"Thank you," he says with a smile. "I really appreciate this." Don't ask him what he's going to do with the book once he has it but well, he's curious. The dreams leave him even more apt to see what he can do.

"What's your name," he questions then, smiling at her.

If I had a message, I would've given it to you already. [She makes a show of looking around...] This place hasn't changed one bit.

Where's Giles?

Well, I think it's pretty obvious that I'm not most people.

[Oh for fuck's sake. He rolls his eyes.] I'm a mutant, okay?

[Well he decided this dream took place in his reality. It's a perfectly logical assumption ... ]

Yes. I'm genetically advanced. [He ... makes some sparks go off in his hand to demonstrate.]

"Neal Caffrey," he introduces with a slight laugh. "Sorry, my name not as impressive as yours." He flips through the book again before looking up at Anya. "So, you work here, right? Do you like it? I mean, I've heard horror stories about retail but..." He grins a little.

He laughs, shaking his head at her. She's definitely odd but the oddness is interesting. "Some people are just weird like that," he explains. "They don't like the people aspect. The exchange of goods is one thing but when you put in the human factor, some people get a little tetchy. Have you never had a customer that got on your nerves?"

[identity profile] smileforaliving.livejournal.com 2011-03-10 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well," he says, laughing and pulling out his wallet. "I guess it's a good thing that I'm not wasting your time then." He waggles the wallet in front of her, a promise that he'll leave with something, even if it's not going to be much use to him later.

"How long have you been working ere," he questions then, simply curious and in the mood to make conversation.

[There's a moment of consideration there. Ellen knows quite a bit about traditional fae but the Folk were always so different from what she knew.]

I suppose it isn't really a fae but do you have much on Barghests?

[identity profile] intuitivelyapt.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
I guess you missed the coming out party.

[identity profile] intuitivelyapt.livejournal.com 2011-03-11 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
Mutants. Coming out. Last year. It was all over the news.

... And not anymore.
