Uwaaahh!! I'm going to be late! ( and out like a shot, comes usagi from her house. she's dressed in her new high school uniform, already trying to beat the clock in order to be on time. there's a piece of toast in her mouth as she zooms by -- and it's not hard to imagine a trail of dust behind her at the pace she's trying to make )

Not on the very first day! I can't believe no one woke me up!! I didn't even have time for breakfast! How am I supposed to make it through the morning like this? ( and she cringes, rounding another corner at top speed, and skids to a stop, coming to a realization. she slaps her forehead... ) Maah! I forgot my lunch too! ( a groan ) This is shaping up to be one of the worst first days of school ever...

[Right about then would be exactly when Usagi runs into Ami, who has a book open that she reads as she walks, and a convenient apple in one hand that she's munching contentedly. Or maybe smugly.

What makes it worse? She's also holding Usagi's book bag. Awful light, isn't it?]

Oof! ( she runs into her quite literally, taking the full brunt of the speed she was running at -- and comes crashing to the ground, rubbing her bottom. oops, it seems her skimpy breakfast is totaled too, as it also falls out of her mouth. what did she hit exactly...? ) Ahh... sorry, Ami-chan! ( she tries to laugh it off ) I didn't see you at first. ( that's when she sees the fallen food... ) And my breakfast too... ( she's sniffling, lamenting its loss... the school bag pales in comparison on the importance scale right about now... )

[There's no answering smile the way there should be. Nor does Ami offer to help Usagi up. She dusts herself off, as if the brush was something dirty and likely germ-infested. When her lips curve upward, it's predatory.]

You're on your way to school, so I son't hold you up. However, if you want to clash with me so badly, we can fight right after.

Eh? Fight? ( she doesn't seem to get it ) But why would we -- ( she lifts herself up too, still rubbing the parts that hit the ground... and that's about the same time she notices that smile... ) A-ami-chan...? Is everything okay?

I just got tired of you and scenes like this. [Really, Usagi, you look pathetic throwing yourself all over the place like that. Try to be more mature.]

[The person Usagi has just collided with has pink hair in two long ponytails down her back... and she doesn't seem too happy to have been almost bowled over.]

Be careful. You could be hurt that way. [There's a slightly sharp edge to it, and her smile is cold, though still polite.]

Late, late, late, late!!!

[Tsukuyomi's zooming down the streets as well, dressed in his school uniform -the male uniform from Usagi's middle school-, holding his school back under his right arm and with a toast in his mouth as well. He hurries as much as he can, like always, stupid alarm not waking him up as it should, and why hadn't his mother woke him up? Or Shingo?

Though maybe they had tried and he hadn't listened, like always. Honestly he can't remember that part of the morning, even if it happened just moments ago. Whatever, he's running late and he doesn't even stop when he spots Usagi skidding to a stop.]

Usagi-chan, forget it! We're going late, you can buy something in the cafeteria!

[He zooms past her.



And stops. Wait a second. He turns to look at her.]

... Usagi-chan? What the...

Tired of... ( she looks at her friend for awhile, before bowing her head a little ) Heh. I know... I should be more responsible, right? We're in high school now. I shouldn't be sleeping in so late. But... ( and she looks up again, smiling genuinely ) This is an important day for both of us, right? So let's go together!

Iyyaaa! It hurts... ( but she picks herself up ) Sorry, sorry! ( and she bows with each mention of the word ) I should have been paying more attention!

Yaah!! But we're so late already! And I already spent my allowance! I -- ( the response comes so naturally... and it actually requires a double take for her to take notice of the person running past her. what the... when he stops -- there's a strange feeling rising up from within her... had they... met before? he wore the juuban middle school uniform, but... ) Wait. [That... Hurts. And it's awkward, if he has to believe the words of that Ami he has met in dreams, then this girl, this Usagi is from another world. One where he doesn't exist, where she remained Usagi, or maybe even one where she never had to face the things that made him be. It's awkward.]

Tsukuyomi... kun. ( the name doesn't mean anything to her... but those eyes tell a different story. how many times in her life had she met someone for the first time, only to realize they were someone dear to her from the past? or even... a different dimension, a different world...

she shakes her head ) I'm sorry. I don't remember... ( and -- for some reason she can't explain, it makes her feel a little sad... )

[Maybe it's because he has said it so many times, because even his parents and Shingo say it, that he has ended believing it, that Usagi was someone separate from him, his twin sister who died, rather than just a part of his mind that vanished in nothingness. He liked Usagi, but he wasn't Usagi, he wasn't a girl, and it was only place for one of them. For him, Usagi existed only because others had created her, so once he confirmed that he wasn't Usagi, she stopped being there. When Luna came and made him transform, though, he couldn't help to wonder at times how would have Usagi been if it had been her instead of him the one who stayed.

And now she's again in front of him, and he knows it's a dream because it's impossible any other way for her to be there. But this Usagi doesn't know him, no, she said she didn't remembered, is there a difference? It's still sad.]

I see... I could tell you we know each other, or rather we knew each other and all, but I suppose you won't believe me.

[That Ami didn't and even now she refuses it.]

I have no intention of going with you anywhere. [She also hasn't handed back the book bag yet. That could be something Usagi needs for school.]

[Lethe remains impassive, and seems to be waiting for Usagi to pick up the scattered belongings - both of theirs.]

[Violet is standing by the door, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed. Jeez, this girl is out of control.]

[Well, she might be late for dream-school, but.]

It doesn't take long for the Spartan to notice that he's in another dream again -- It reminds him a little of Ami's world. Seeing little use to retain his waryness, he opts to holster his rifle. He recalls it's not polite to carry weapons in a civilian street when not in a mission.

When he turns, there's also the realization that his attire is probably unfit for the occassion for most people. Usagi runs the risk of literally bumping into someone else on her way to school. Seven feet and two inches of metal, actually.

( the voice startles her enough so that when she looks to see where exactly it's coming from -- her toe manages to catch the sidewalk just right, causing her to floy forward, landing on her face...

when she lifts herself up she looks like she's in pretty bad shape -- and is barely holding back the waterworks as she sniffles loudly. damn... that hurt!! ) This is... the worst first day of school ever!!

( and she does so with a great CLANG rebounding off of the armour and falling backwards as she rubs her forehead from her position on the ground ) Iyaa! That hurts!! What the heck did I run into?! It felt like -- ( and that's about the time she looks up, straight at something that looked like it just crawled out of the scifi channel... ) Sp-space man?!

But Ami-chan! We... we always go together... ( there's a little bit of disbelief here... everything was fine yesterday! so why was today so different...? )

[She doesn't much care about the whys and the wherefores, and she's pretty sure they wouldn't change anything anyway. So her answer is far more simple than that.]

( decadence? isn't that the way you described dessert sometimes...? either way, she doesn't seem to get it and laughs nervously, with an arm behind her head ) I'll be more careful next time.

But... you seem familiar, somehow. ( she didn't want to have to be the one to let him down... especially when he looked so hopeful. and something about those eyes... it was almost as if she had stared into them a thousand times before. not the same way that mamo-chan's eyes captivated hers, but still... somehow so familiar ) You go to the Junior High, don't you? ( she perks up, guessing by the uniform she used to see daily -- ) Is that where we ran into eachother maybe?

( that attitude earns itself a second look, and she tries to smile it off as she gathers both of their things -- and hands it back to the pink haired girl ) Haha... Sorry! Everything should be there...
