Uwaaahh!! I'm going to be late! ( and out like a shot, comes usagi from her house. she's dressed in her new high school uniform, already trying to beat the clock in order to be on time. there's a piece of toast in her mouth as she zooms by -- and it's not hard to imagine a trail of dust behind her at the pace she's trying to make )

Not on the very first day! I can't believe no one woke me up!! I didn't even have time for breakfast! How am I supposed to make it through the morning like this? ( and she cringes, rounding another corner at top speed, and skids to a stop, coming to a realization. she slaps her forehead... ) Maah! I forgot my lunch too! ( a groan ) This is shaping up to be one of the worst first days of school ever...

[Violet is standing by the door, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed. Jeez, this girl is out of control.]

Take it easy. You're not going to be late.

[Well, she might be late for dream-school, but.]

( the voice startles her enough so that when she looks to see where exactly it's coming from -- her toe manages to catch the sidewalk just right, causing her to floy forward, landing on her face...

when she lifts herself up she looks like she's in pretty bad shape -- and is barely holding back the waterworks as she sniffles loudly. damn... that hurt!! ) This is... the worst first day of school ever!!

[Violet sighs, tilting her head at the girl.]

It's just a dream. Don't sweat it.

A dream?! ( that sort of makes her stop and think for a moment... it's true that something about the whole experience up until now didn't feel quite right, but... ) How do you know that? ( and then an idea occurs to her ) Sh-should I pinch myself to make sure?!

'Cause that's what they told me when this happened. The people wandering in and out are probably real people. [She shrugs.]

You could, but it probably wouldn't do much.
