Spell 004 | Harry Potter |
[ Harry's locked in a room where there are no definite doors and the walls are solid white aside from the very obvious writing all over the walls. He's holding a strange looking quill and blood is pouring from his hand as he's clearly written 'I must not tell lies' all over the room- walls, ceiling, and floor are covered in blood-red lettering. ]
[ He drops the quill and looks around again, in a far corner there's a tombstone and a freshly dug grave. Harry moves over to it to see who's grave it is, a sinking feeling in his stomach tells him he knows exactly who's it is. ]
Here lies Cedric Diggory. Died in a tragic accident
[ Harry stares numbly at the Tombstone as Anger starts to build, his fingers twitching to grab his wand. ]
'Has it sunk in yet?'
[ A sickening voice like poisoned honey sounds from all around the room. And before he's even aware of what he's doing Harry has his wand-]
Reducto!
[ The tombstone blasts into pieces. ]
(( No theme this time. Just depressing stuff that's on Harry's mind >: ))

[Then...] "Reducto", hm? That's an odd sort of word choice, isn't it? Latin base, French origins from the word reducier... to hear it, the definition one would think to best fit the word would be "diminish", but the action hardly seems to befit the definition, does it?
no subject
It's the reductor curse.

It's an understatement is what it is. [She pulls one hand from behind her back and points at Harry's bleeding hand.] And I suppose that is what one might call an overstatement.

She knows guilt, though she'd never admit the last. Her voice, firm and steady, even loud, calls him back from the panic and the numbness.
Harry Potter.

It's a lie.
Cedric didn't die in an accident. He was murdered. Lord Voldemort killed him.

It's her own.
Finally, she reaches for his hand, wordless, the gesture careful and slow.]

Why won't-why won't anyone believe it?
no subject
They don't want to believe it. If they refuse, they can pretend their own destruction isn't coming.

[Don't ask where Tseng came from, he's just so very very calm because he's been here before Harry. People have died because he couldn't save them either and it hurts.
Sadly, he is terrible at talking about emotions. Ever.]

[ Turning so fast ]
It's a lie! It's an insult!

[He sighs, wishing for something not covered in blood to lean on.]
The majority of the population would rather believe a lie that makes them feel safe than admit that their world is falling apart at the seams. You know the truth, those who truly matter to you know the truth as well.
Prepare yourselves for the inevitable and pray everyone else sees reason before it's too late.

[Tseng's only a bit calloused and ambivialnt towards the majority of humanity Harry.]
Worry about the people who matter to you, not the entire planet.

[ The sudden realization that he wasn't alone kind of makes him feel a little ashamed of his behavior but at the same time that tombstone was a complete lie that he couldn't feel sorry for exploding it to bits. ]
...You didn't.. see that.. did you?

Nice redecorating, kid. Can't you blow a hole in the wall instead? I'd like to get out of here.
[She shakes her head at the walls again.] Nothing wrong with lying, that's what makes the world go round.

[Seriously.]
For another, I don't care. [Shrug.] If you ain't lying, who cares if somebody says you are? What's the big deal? People think I'm lying all the time.

[Eyeroll.]
Just do something about it. Prove em wrong instead of whining about it. [Another shrug.] People die. Kids in school die. Liars and hypocrites have the sweetest dreams after doing way worse that. Welcome to life and the human race.
