Spell 004 | Harry Potter |

[ Harry's locked in a room where there are no definite doors and the walls are solid white aside from the very obvious writing all over the walls. He's holding a strange looking quill and blood is pouring from his hand as he's clearly written 'I must not tell lies' all over the room- walls, ceiling, and floor are covered in blood-red lettering. ]

[ He drops the quill and looks around again, in a far corner there's a tombstone and a freshly dug grave. Harry moves over to it to see who's grave it is, a sinking feeling in his stomach tells him he knows exactly who's it is. ]

Here lies Cedric Diggory. Died in a tragic accident

[ Harry stares numbly at the Tombstone as Anger starts to build, his fingers twitching to grab his wand. ]

'Has it sunk in yet?'

[ A sickening voice like poisoned honey sounds from all around the room. And before he's even aware of what he's doing Harry has his wand-]

Reducto!

[ The tombstone blasts into pieces. ]

(( No theme this time. Just depressing stuff that's on Harry's mind >: ))

[Standing quietly in the corner opposite the now blasted tombstone, just quietly observing for a moment.]

[Then...] "Reducto", hm? That's an odd sort of word choice, isn't it? Latin base, French origins from the word reducier... to hear it, the definition one would think to best fit the word would be "diminish", but the action hardly seems to befit the definition, does it?
theycallhersunshine: (hey you with the pretty face)

[Stepping closer, hands tucked behind her back and playing up the harmless female act for him. Look Harry, she's so small and pretty, she couldn't possibly be dangerous.]

It's an understatement is what it is. [She pulls one hand from behind her back and points at Harry's bleeding hand.] And I suppose that is what one might call an overstatement.

Detention? What sort of lies would one have to tell to warrent something like that?

[Ami steps out from a spot in the shadows. She knows what was on the tombstone. She knows it's the same name as the boy Harry was looking for.

She knows guilt, though she'd never admit the last. Her voice, firm and steady, even loud, calls him back from the panic and the numbness.

Harry Potter.

[personal profile] waterfell 2012-04-16 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
[It isn't the same guilt. Ami steps forward, looks Harry over, might be deciding just what to do or what to say. It bothers her, to see someone's pain written so literally on the walls, to see the mess it leaves behind, to see the trappings and the madness of guilt.

It's her own.

Finally, she reaches for his hand, wordless, the gesture careful and slow.]

[For the same reason her truth isn't believed, either; and so, she answers him both bluntly and honestly. As he hasn't moved away, she takes his hand to bind the wound, using a blue cloth to wrap around his palm. It's damp against the skin, and the water dampening it has pain-relieving and healing properties.]

They don't want to believe it. If they refuse, they can pretend their own destruction isn't coming.

Destroying things won't bring anyone back.

[Don't ask where Tseng came from, he's just so very very calm because he's been here before Harry. People have died because he couldn't save them either and it hurts.

Sadly, he is terrible at talking about emotions. Ever.]

I'm not arguing with you that it isn't.

[He sighs, wishing for something not covered in blood to lean on.]

The majority of the population would rather believe a lie that makes them feel safe than admit that their world is falling apart at the seams. You know the truth, those who truly matter to you know the truth as well.

Prepare yourselves for the inevitable and pray everyone else sees reason before it's too late.
plotdeviceturk: (so very calm)

[personal profile] plotdeviceturk 2012-04-18 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
That's their own stupidity then.

[Tseng's only a bit calloused and ambivialnt towards the majority of humanity Harry.]

Worry about the people who matter to you, not the entire planet.

[ The Doctor sits near by, hands in his lap, legs crossed as he simply listens in on what is happening. Oh, he knows very well the circumstances. Though he's not entirely certain he should be where he is. ]

Writing in blood? Seriously? [Reno studies the walls, unimpressed, and seems equally unimpressed as she glances at his magic tombstone blasting. Great. Not that she disapproves of vandalism, but come on...]

Nice redecorating, kid. Can't you blow a hole in the wall instead? I'd like to get out of here.

[She shakes her head at the walls again.] Nothing wrong with lying, that's what makes the world go round.
tasercopter: (a wondrous chorus)

For one thing, settle down.

[Seriously.]

For another, I don't care. [Shrug.] If you ain't lying, who cares if somebody says you are? What's the big deal? People think I'm lying all the time.
tasercopter: (a friendly intervention)

Yelling about it helps a lot, I bet.

[Eyeroll.]

Just do something about it. Prove em wrong instead of whining about it. [Another shrug.] People die. Kids in school die. Liars and hypocrites have the sweetest dreams after doing way worse that. Welcome to life and the human race.
