001. grain of sand

[ The first thing you hear is the ocean.  There is a slight fog.  Bobby remembers going outside, but he doesn't remember how long he's been on the beach.  And he begins to realize this might be a dream.  He is laying on the sand and sits up.  He wonders if this is going to turn into a nightmare or not.]

[brushes it off] Don't worry about it kid. Maybe you'll find out some day. But you should figure out if you can control minds. That'd be good to know.

[Bobby tries to focus and while the fog doesn't completely fade away, the weather is clearer.]

I am not a kid. [He whines, pointing out the flaw in that statement. He's way older, he suspects.] And I know I can't control minds.

[He looks at the clearer sight, blinking.]

Didn't actually think that would work.

I am not! [He whines, grumbling.] You can't be any older than me anyway. [He can't tell, not when he's all ice. (It's a wonder he didn't question that first, but somehow some things just made sense here.)]

Maybe, maybe not. I was just thinking it could've not actually been a dream.

[He sputters at that, indignant. Twelve? He forgets the latter question, focusing on that part.] I do not, you punk! I'll have you know that I'm three--- [He doesn't get to finish that statement, however, when waves suddenly crashed into the sea, more on a subconscious action from Ted's imagination.]

[Bobby chuckles and looks over at the waves as they come crashing in.]

Whoa, got kinda rough all of a sudden.

[That startles him too, staring at the ocean in surprise.]

I wasn't expecting that to happen.

... Dos this kind of place also get sudden waves when you're awake?
