First Dream
[As far as the eye can see there's only a field of grass with a light wind blowing. It's freezing cold, but the boy laying back to look at the stars doesn't seem to notice. Or, if he does, he's used to it. He's been here for a while, slowly watching them blink out of existence one by one. Each time they do he reaches up, sadness written on his face - in the air around him. He can't stop it, he knows that, but he reaches anyway, trying as hard as he can. As if that will help. It doesn't and as each one slowly winks out, he seems to curl up on himself - bitter, hurt - lonely. It seems like hours, but soon, there's only a handful left.
Ventus shivers, rolling over and curling up - He's alone. He shouldn't have tried. How does he reach the light anyway? He can't. Sitting up, he pulls out the pieces of his wayfinder, face an open book of abandonment and betrayal. Hurt and anger.] ....I wish...
[And flings it away as far and hard as he can, uncaring where they fall.
Overhead, several more stars wink out, the rest shining just that much fainter.] I've never known you if you were just going to abandon me.

You'll become stronger that way.

Thanks, Mercury.

It gives me hope that I'm not as broken as he thinks... that there's a part that's not given up yet, you know?
no subject
He isn't kind, huh?
So isn't that more reason to get stronger?
no subject
Where would I go afterwards?
no subject
You'd go anywhere you wanted. Decide that for yourself.

He did. She isn't even sure what to call the feeling that gives her.]
So visit them. There's nothing stopping you, right?
/uses icon.
Only Vanitas.
XD
[She knows, of course, that's it's not quite that easy; for her, there's Kunzite who has many ways of making sure it's his will that's carried out.]
Now that you've stopped sniveling, you can decide what to do.
Re: XD
[It was a bitter blow to know that if he tried opening a portal to the Lanes, he'd tear himself apart. How Vanitas knew that it needed open space, Ventus doubted he wanted to know.] And it's not like I get the chance to get to one of his portals.
[the first few times of being pounced and pinned by Unversed had been more than enough, thank you very much.]

[Haven't they already discussed that this is a dream?]
I'll take you there.

[you will have to drag him, Ami.]

But you want to, right? And it can't be helped if someone brings you.

[... why does he have a bad feeling?]
no subject
Aside from inviting trouble by asking that.Mercury nods.]
The one who knows where these places are, is you. So, go ahead.

Srsly, you will have to drag him, he won't go through on his own.]

[The poor boy flails most of the way, squeaking too. a Push is touch and touch is generally bad, but - Oh hai thar new dreamscape, how are you today?]
... M-Mercury...

This is where you wanted, isn't it?
no subject
... S-Shall I umm... Show you around?

[She's five seconds from snapping at him to be less sniveling again.
Which makes her wonder just what it is that's kept her by him even this long. She knows the answer, somewhere in her - those very words that she could have said herself: If you were just going to abandon me, I wish I never knew you.
She sometimes wishes she'd never known Usagi at all. She wouldn't have felt that betrayal, could have cut the threat of the princess down without the confusion in her heart over the girl.
But it's more comfortable to tell herself it's just because he irritates her, because something in her can't stand seeing
what could have beensomeone so subservient when she's made so many concerted efforts to assert her independence.]
