Mingle Post: Movie Night

Who: Everyone! Open to All
What: "Movie Night" mingle log
When: any time agreed upon by the players
Where: anywhere there might be movies showing: theatres, dvd rooms, homes, drive-ins. also, movie settings.

It's an old, old, story: falling asleep and dreaming of that movie that was playing until just a few moments ago. Maybe taking the part of the hero, maybe the dastardly villain, or maybe even just some side character there to fill a purpose in the plot and no more. It might be a dashing adventure, a passionate drama, a sickly sweet romance - anything at all. But it's playing out right now.

Or maybe the movie is playing up on the screen. There's a comfortable couch at a DVD Room, or a seat at the theatre (amid a crowd, or alone with that special someone at the back of the room), or even just a comfortable chair in a warm, cozy house.
Whatever it may be, movies are the order of the night.

(ooc: This is a post to keep threads together for the Movie Night theme. Separate posts are also fine, and this one is optional. Feel free to be part of a movie, or watching one; if need be, specify in the subject line)

"Eh?" it was as though Ami's voice seemed to pull her out of some sort of reverie. Reminding her that she was indeed still in the theatre, and with Ami. She ignored any hint of sarcasam associated with the honorific used; it was normal for her!

"Fun?" she repeated the word, then looked back towards the screen. "Well... I'm not sure if I would call it fun exactly... But! You're enjoying it right, Ami-chan?"

She was - or at least, she told herself, the film was stimulating. Being here with Usagi was one giant mass of uncertainty. (That was strange, if she realized it consciously, after so long of considering time like this with Usagi to be so irretrievably impossible.)

"It's a film that had good critical reviews. It's won several awards at recent film festivals as well," was her more careful answer, void of whatever she might think of 'watching a movie together'.

"Yeah? But..." she trailed off, looking at the screen. "It's so sad, you know? It seems like all the heartbreak could have been avoided if they had just talked to one another..." Goodness. Did she... actually understand some of the content?! "I mean, I don't know what they're saying exactly, but... there," she pointed, "that one guy. If only he'd gone to his friend in the first place instead of trying to always deal with everything himself... I bet their relationship wouldn't be so strained right now..." she trailed off, then finally gazed at her friend beside her.

"Ah -- hahah! I mean, that's what it looks like to me, anyway!"

No. She wasn't going to be drawn in by this. She wasn't going to make the too-obvious connection: talk to me. Except she was already sitting here in this theatre, not leaving it, not walking away. Neither of them was walking away.

Still, she couldn't quite meet Usagi halfway. More like thirty-three percent.

"He had his reasons for that," she said, instead of any of the thousand things it would have better to say. An assertion that it wasn't always possible to just 'talk things out' or whatever easy answer Usagi thought would somehow touch problems that spanned centuries and lifetimes.
