Mingle Post: Movie Night

Where: anywhere there might be movies showing: theatres, dvd rooms, homes, drive-ins. also, movie settings.

It's an old, old, story: falling asleep and dreaming of that movie that was playing until just a few moments ago. Maybe taking the part of the hero, maybe the dastardly villain, or maybe even just some side character there to fill a purpose in the plot and no more. It might be a dashing adventure, a passionate drama, a sickly sweet romance - anything at all. But it's playing out right now.

Or maybe the movie is playing up on the screen. There's a comfortable couch at a DVD Room, or a seat at the theatre (amid a crowd, or alone with that special someone at the back of the room), or even just a comfortable chair in a warm, cozy house.
Whatever it may be, movies are the order of the night.

"Okay." Dale accepted the difference in opinion, and of course this left all the more sugar for himself. He snatched the sugar bowl and began to drag it over to himself hastily when he kicked himself mentally again, not to let good demeanor slip. He administered sugar with the supplied tongs instead, however it was much too cumbersome for his taste as he ended up emptying the bowl of its contents.

Dale took up the teacup in his hands and started to roll it, like someone rolls an eight ball in the palms of their hands as opposed to shaking it vigorously. He was incorporating the sugar into his drink when his eyes wandered over the rim of the cup for a bit, vacantly at first but he set his eyes on what would have been the more sensible solution of using a metal stirrer from the table. He sets the cup down mechanically and stirs his tea briefly, offering an apprehensive sniff at the steamy surface before striking up conversation.

"The tea is good!" This was the first time since arriving he'd had a genuine expression of cheer on his face, probably the promise of a generous dosage of sugar he was about to receive. He ventures the topic of complimenting his host, or he assumed she was the host. "I like your sleeves." He's fidgeting with the teacup handle now, unsure of what 'proper' conversation was supposed to be.

Though she didn't precisely seem comfortable, Homura was everything a Victorian doll might be, from the fashions to the placid but distant demeanor. Whatever embarrassment she might feel about it was cloaked in her current mood.

She took a sip of her tea, and set the cup back on the table before glancing at Dale to answer him. "There are also pastries, if you would like to sample them." She nudges the platter politely closer.

The sleeves in question were spared only a glance. They were very much something she wouldn't normally wear, but that a dear friend of hers would. That made it worthwhile, for the moment. "They were a suggestion from a friend," she said.
