drinkandforget: (our bodies have no value)

Remove these bracelets

Lethe knows better than to wish. She'd wished for nothing more than peace, and her planet finally found it - in the death and nothingness that follow in Galaxia's wake. But for Mnemosyne, she can't deny Mnemosyne anything. When the chance comes to be rid of Galaxia's bracelets and return to their bodies, she is there, hand in hand with her sister, ready to face whatever comes and grasp their future.

It isn’t what she wanted at all. Her skin sags. Her flesh reeks and her hand no longer maintains its grip. Her legs refuse to obey her and she lurches forward entirely without grace. Lethe is horrified to find herself in her body not as she remembers it, but as it is now.

“Our bodies...” Mnemosyne’s voice was slightly raspy as she spoke, as though it was getting caught in her throat somehow. “These are... our old bodies. Lethe..” she hasn’t quite seemed to have noticed it yet -- the smell of decaying flesh, the gobs of hair that have loosened from her head... “We can be whole again...” as she looks to her sister, her smile, usually simple and sweet -- has taken on a more sinister appearance -- her gums are clearly rotting. “Our bodies have returned...!”

can I have Mnemosyne? >D

Mercury takes in the shape before her, barely recognizable - no, unrecognizable indeed except for the scraps of fabric that still belong to the light dress and its senshi-uniform style collar.

She holds her weapon at the ready as the tattered form of Mnemosyne approaches.

"Stay back."

Her neck turns, the movements more like one jerk after another. Her eyes widen, or perhaps that's the skin giving way around the sockets. "Sailor... senshi..."

And she doesn't grant that one request. It's almost as though she can't even process it before her body starts to move on its own towards Mercury, her arms reaching out.

It's horrifying. Right in front of her, this... creature is rotting away, falling apart. Even Mercury has to suppress a shudder.

She is well-trained. The weapon does not falter. She slashes her sword against the air, and a blast of energy hurls towards what was once Mnemosyne. How she expects it to stop this insensate body is a mystery perhaps to herself as well.

thats right. the price you'll pay is your brains!!!

Mnemosyne doesn't stop -- she doesn't even react to the attack being sent towards her. Her coherent mind is far too gone to put one and one together in order to dodge or block it -- and so as she ambles forward -- it hits her in her midsection.

That causes the girl to stop for a moment, looking down at the damage inflicted. There is a hole in the side of her body now, in the place the energy tore through her. But there is no pain. No reaction. Only flesh dripping off from this newly formed hole.

She looks up again towards Mercury, her mouth agape in a silent cry as she starts to move towards her target again.
waterfell: (mercury ✻ frozen)

Why do they always want her brain?! T_T

Mercury pulls back in visible surprise. That wound should have stopped anyone! She needs another way, but what can stop a body that seems so completely impervious to pain and careless of damage?

Two things: destroy it completely, or stop it entirely.

With merely a glance from Mercury, hail and ice stream towards the body of Mnemosyne. A thick sheet of ice starts to grow over her, intended to encase her.

Mnemosyne continues to move forward, and doesn't even seem to notice the next attack until her feet no longer respond to the commands being given to them. Looking down, it's almost as though the soldier can no longer comprehend the simple matter of what's going on here. She attemps to lift, still, one leg at a time, and seeing that they're stuck... lifts up her head to cry out at Mercury as the rest of the ice creeps up and around her small frame -- holding her in place...

SHE HAS TO OK. DOCTOR DOCTOR DOCTOR. DATA DATA DATA.

There's a moment of triumph, of smug confidence. This wasn't even a hard battle; is that all you have, sailor senshi?!

Then something happens. Something doesn't feel right, and the wound on her arm becomes evident. The wound on her arm...

She feels all the horror of it as her body starts to change.

Although there is a deep freeze beginning to set into her broken, flimsy body... it doesn't stop Mnemosyne from trying to move. It is not about freeing herself, there isn't that much understanding of the situation she's in -- only a burning need to continue forward... to keep moving. Keep trying to attain that one thing...

The smell in the air was beginning to change... no longer sweet and tempting, now becoming something less desirable altogether...
waterfell: (mercury ✻ our bodies were changed)

geez, if it's not hooking it up to a supercomputer, it's eating it. LEAVE HER BRAIN ALONE.

[personal profile] waterfell 2012-04-04 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
The ice recedes; Mercury's attention is taken up by something else entirely. She wavers on her feet, still coherent enough to wonder: is this other one near her an ally, or competition for the same quarry?

The horror of what she's become hasn't sunk in, yet.
memorials: (event | fatal blow)

but you've spent all this time tenderizing and marinating it!! we cant let it just go to waste...

Mnemosyne is moving again before the ice has completely released her. With one jerking step forward, the force is enough to snap off her foot at the ankle. It doesn't stop her though -- from ambling forward on the bone, limping forward, closer towards Mercury...
waterfell: (mercury ✻ our bodies were changed)

HER brain. Not yours! Don't take what doesn't belong to you!

[personal profile] waterfell 2012-04-07 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
It sinks in then. She doesn't want to fight Mnemosyne. She doesn't want to kill Mnemosyne.

She wants to rip and rend and tear and feed. She wants to sink the teeth she still has into soft flesh, taste it like the tang of iron on her tongue. She moves unsteadily forward.

galaxia says i have to :(

She's close enough to attack now, however, as Mnemosyne reaches forward, she unsteadily moves past Mercury's changing form. This one no longer holds any interest for her. Ruined by the same disease, the same virus that has turned Mnemosyne into this... her meat is no longer a thing to be craved. It's tainted. Turned.

Surely there must be something more desirable further ahead.

wind up hereish? <3

Narrowly saved, Mercury separates from Mnemosyne, from some instinct that tells her hunting alone in different territory will bring more food and meat to both. Former grace gone, she heaves her way towards a nearby village... and gradually walks the path to waking.
