Spell 001 | Harry Potter | Behind on Homework

[ There is a boy seated at a small desk in a darkened room scribbling away on a piece of parchment surrounded by books. He stops writing only to pull out more Parchment and starting to write on that. It isn't long before he grabs more parchment and abandons the other piece. He starts writing faster now as the stack of books begins to grow in height as does the blank parchment. ]

[ He's not writing fast enough, however as the stacks continue to grow and grow until they can no longer continue up and topple over-spilling all over the classroom floor. Somehow, when they toppled they took Harry's half-completed homework with them and all the papers and books are scattered all over the floor. When he goes to sort through them again the papers seem quite insistent on staying where they are and a few even try to bite the poor kid. ]

[ They rearrange themselves on the floor and the essay he had been writing shows itself at last. He doesn't think anything of it as it waves to him and stalks forward to grab it, only it disappears and then reappears on top of the chandelier, still waving and now it even feels like it's giggling while it's so far out of his reach. ]

[Harry, remember that girl, always does great on tests? Rumored 300 IQ? Constantly at the top of the class? No, not Hermione.

No? That's OK, because despite the bright blue of the Ravenclaw uniform, and despite being the right age of fifteen in this dream, Harry has never seen this girl before. Ami's lips curve upward in a faint smirk as she takes stock of the chaos in the room.

She always gets her homework done promptly.]

Letting homework build up like this is a sign of laziness. Ravenclaw will certainly pull ahead in the house rankings at this rate.

Doesn't that mean you earned it?

[She does not have much sympathy for the famous boy-who-gets-excused-for-every-rule-he-breaks-just-because-it's-him-and-he's-special. She knows where that above-justice attitude leads.

She knows Tsukino Usagi.

Nonetheless, her voice stays light and airy as she continues to enjoy the sight of his struggle.]

Be good this time, and maybe the homework will like you better!

[That's different. How many times have her own warnings been brushed aside, disbelieved; how many times has she even been hated for them? Against her will, she feels a sneaking understanding.

However, she is no longer nearly as noble as Harry. And she is, perhaps, frustrated.]

Then the consequences will be on their heads. [She should have been in Slytherin, really... but she wasn't always like this.]

[ The Doctor, seemingly from nowhere, appears and slowly edges around the stack of books. Blimey, he hasn't seen things this bad since his days in the Academy. Ten life times ago! Not that he was the best in school, mind you. He was one of the worst. That's why he's extra careful not to bump anything over. ]

They probably thought you were trying to create a panic.

[This time, the words come without judgment. It's simply the easiest reason she can think of for driving out what Harry has to say. Ami's eyes finally seek out all the variously misbehaving papers.]

I'll help get them down, if you want.

[Is he asking could she? She knows what he means, of course, but the insufferable smug smirk comes anyway.]

Just let me. [Of course she can! Or at least, she has the ego to say so. Ami takes out her wand, and instead of the summoning charm...

A freezing charm might work. She's best at those anyway, and she's heard they can disable alarms, so why not freeze a bunch of papers? She speaks the word, confidently.]

Ta-da!

[She even makes a little pose, apparently milking her moment for all it's worth.

As the papers finally stop and settle, Ami snatches for the nearest ones, and looks over Harry's work. Call it curiosity.]

I am kind of loving these two XD

[Is he even serious, thinking this is enough to get by? Where is his sense of overachieving pride? Ami hands the parchment back, but not without commentary.]

The teacher will mark points off for the length. You should revise this part, too. The end is redundant; were you trying to pad the line count again?

[So sympathetic, this one.]

Admit it, he'd be lonely without a pedantic, overly academic friend. XD

In that case, remember it for next time. And start earlier.

[This may, just may, be why she has a reputation for being a bit of a snob about schoolwork.]

Hagrid would never fail anyone. Except the idiots bothering the animals. Ok, fine, he would.

[Ami is one of those people who finds Professor Snape very strict, but fair. This could possibly be because she's the type of sharp student he can respect more than most, and her attention to detail makes her do well in Potions class, though she's no prodigy there like Snape himself.

She's also the sort who carries a very, very heavy bookbag (made easier with charms to make it seem lighter). She rummages around in it, and produces one of the books she used for her own essay.]

This one has the best and most up to date research.
waterfell: (ami 悪 better not say you won't fight)

along with his friends.

I'm not doing the paper for you. Find a new idea for it, and write in a final paragraph on that.
waterfell: (ami 悪 better not say you won't fight)

Automatically. XD

[She might. But this is Harry Potter, always surrounded by friends who can help him.

And she is Ami Mizuno, who'd have to resort to spells the teachers would certainly detect and disallow, to achieve the same. She's spitefully jealous.]

What part of 'do it yourself' is difficult to understand?

[Hers left her alone and let her be hurt. Some friends.]

You can borrow it. [The tone suggests she won't be slow to remind him he owes her a favor now, but on the bright side, she hands over the book.]

It's due in a few minutes anyway, right? So give the book back tonight.
