Night 1 | ~ Remember ~

[There is a sleepy town cast in the soft orange light of the setting sun. It is built on hills, so the brick streets of the town rise and fall in great slopes in some areas and gently rolls in others. At the very top of the highest hill, there is a clock tower perched atop a train station. When a world is trapped within perpetual sunset like this one, keeping track of the time is difficult, and so that tower is of the utmost importance, the ticking of its clock the heartbeat of the town.

Wherever you are in the town, there's a young teenager dressed in a black coat. The hood is drawn up to where his or her face is mostly obscured. On top of the clock tower, he or she -- it's surprisingly difficult to tell -- the teenager is sitting on the ledge, holding a light blue ice cream bar in one hand, staring out at the town below. Elsewhere, s/he can be found wandering around, as if exploring the streets, or standing awkwardly along the building walls.]

[ooc: A list of canonical locations in town is here, if you want it! All of Twilight Town is there to visit (except for Yen Sid's tower, since Xion doesn't exactly know that place exists).]

[She's been here before. She's sat with Axel here, on the clock tower. She's walked these streets with Sora grown up. So there's no hesitation when Mizuno Ami finds herself in Twilight Town. She assumes the person in this dream, too, is perhaps even someone she's... acquainted with (she has trouble with that word, friends, even more than she did when she was younger).

So Ami simply sits down right on the ledge beside the cloaked figure. How she's suddenly
there is something she doesn't bother explaining; it'd ruin the effect of the impossibility, even if it's only dream logic this time. Her smile is somewhat sly, but it seems to simply be her habit.]

It's been awhile since I've been here. It was sunset that time, too.

[Somehow this seems important in the dream. Ami glances beside her, but still can't make out the features beneath the hood.]

This is your world then.

[She considers that for a moment. She can understand the sentiment of not precisely totally feeling a part of the world she resides in. After all, she has been an outsider for much of her experience there.]

I can understand saying that.

Is it still important to you?

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-12-04 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
[She sees it all in that tension. This is somewhere this person wants to protect.]

If it's like that, be sure to become strong in your own power. That's what you can rely on for this.

[At Central Station, there is another figure, hooded and cloaked, standing before an idle train. She may not have been waiting, precisely, but as soon as the second cloaked figure passes, she stands straighter.]

Hop on, and tell me where you want to go.

[identity profile] drinkandforget.livejournal.com 2011-12-04 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
Then I will lead you. [Hopefully her sudden companion knows not to accept rides from strangers. Lethe is rarely deliberately cruel, but neither is she gentle. And it may become hard to hold on to the things they pass by on their ride together.]

[Barnaby is confused again--this certainly isn't Sternbild, after all. He takes a moment to find the hooded teen, having been wandering aimlessly in unfamiliar surroundings and trying to memorize the paths. (Of course, he'll forget them when he wakes up.)

When he does, it's as he passes by Market Street. Something pings him about that hooded person, standing off to the side and looking so very out of place. Then again, he's out of place as well.

So he approaches him/her, putting on his most charming smile.]

Hello. Can you tell me where I am?

[identity profile] bishonenbunny.livejournal.com 2011-12-06 09:20 am (UTC)(link)
[MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

Except not, because hey, he still needs more information. And despite the hood, he's actually rather sure this person can be trusted.]

I see. How far is it from Sternbild?

[identity profile] tasercopter.livejournal.com 2011-12-04 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[Reno's not surprised to find herself in another strange location, but she's not that interested in the architecture of Market Street, so she seeks out another person and soon finds one standing beside one of the buildings.

The black coat and hood do not sit well with her, considering past and recent events, so she approaches with a certain wariness, but it doesn't seem like a freaky Sephiremnant or anything of the kind.]

Hey, kid. You live here?

[identity profile] tasercopter.livejournal.com 2011-12-05 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
[This woman does look and talk a lot like Axel, after all, and she even has tattoos on her face. But she has no idea who Axel is. She leans in curiously.]

No, huh? [Why did it take the kid so long to answer that simple question?]

But you know where here is?

[The Tram Common is bigger then a lot of places in town, and a little confusing, and people who aren't familiar with the area can easily get lost...especially if that person is just shy of five years old.

That's the predicament this child has found himself in. But he's not worried - this is a new place, and he just wants to explore. It doesn't really matter where he's going.

But one thing in all of his wandering makes him stop. A figure in a black coat catches his eye, and he pauses, trying to get a good look at them. He doesn't know who it could be...but for some reason, they seem like someone important.

Sora doesn't approach right away, though. For a minute, he just watches.]

[identity profile] connectedsky.livejournal.com 2011-12-15 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
[When they notice Sora, he doesn't react immediately - he just keeps watching, as if that'll somehow help him figure out who they are. But, of course, it doesn't.

So he does the best thing he can think to do; he carefully comes closer, enough so that they can talk to each other.]

...Who are you?

[He sounds (and looks) more curious than anything.]

[identity profile] existwithoutme.livejournal.com 2011-12-07 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
[He doesn't know what's happened, but he has the distinct sense that he shouldn't be here.

He finds himself standing at the foot of the train station. It's an unfamiliar place, not only this station, but also train stations in general. He knows the Air Cabs of Lindblum, and similar forms of transportation, but this kind of train is strange to him. Why ride along the ground if you can fly?

He glances up and sees the dark-clad figure on top of the clock tower. It draws his interest as well as his gaze, such a small figure sitting up so high. Then, flying is exactly what he does, leaping up easily into the air and landing near where Xion sits. He turns to look out over the town below, considering the view.]

Such an odd quality the light has here. A permanent transience of sorts.

[He should be dead, but this does not seem to be death. Death should be an absence of sense, feeling, thought. Perhaps this is a hallucination, and he will fade out in another moment or two.] I wonder when it will end?

[identity profile] existwithoutme.livejournal.com 2011-12-07 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[He doesn't look toward the other figure as he speaks, continuing to study the town below and the horizon beyond.]

All things end. Nothing is permanent. This world at a standstill--it can only last so long. I wonder how long that will be.

[He expects it will be soon, for him. He is not dead, but he must be dying, even though he feels no pain now. He wonders where Zidane is. Well, it's only right that Zidane wouldn't follow him into oblivion. Zidane doesn't deserve to die.]
