[ The Doctor simply nods to the dreamer as they find themselves in The TARDIS console room. He's flying around the console, as par usual, hitting random things and random dials. Sitting on his head is a cowboy hat. Somehow, it just works with the bowtie, suspenders and green coat. Don't ask. ]

Right then! I've got a special treat in mind. [ He turns away from the console, facing the dreamer with a smile on his face. He crosses his arms over his chest. ] I've got the TARDIS set up to land on one day of the year - any year - any place in any year! One special day. It comes around every year but it's the day that almost everyone looks forward to. All I have to do is hit the randomize blinker and we're off!

Call it a present! You'll understand when we land.


(( ooc: non-event post for December! The Doctor is taking your characters to a place they've never been before on December 24th--Christmas Eve! The living room, right this way!

[ They turn into the room. It's a typical Edwardian room with a giant real Christmas tree. Decorated, presents under the tree. The whole nine yards. ]

It smells of pine. [This is her first thought, though she should have expected it of course She's just never been in a close space with one before;s she's seen the outdoor ones decorated for the city.]

Of course it does. That's a real tree!

[ He gestures to it, though something catches his eye. In the corner is an old grandfather clock--an old one--and a small doll house. The Doctor walks over to the dollhouse, tapping it. It comes to life with with gears moving bits of it around, and a familiar Christmas tune (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QITJK8ExG-U). ]

[That piece has been making its way into her dreams again. She'd been at dance rehearsal with Ryuuzaki Umi, dancing to the very same.

That's something for her to piece together when she wakes up.

Ami heads straight for the dollhouse, but the distant look she gives it is far more analytical than amazed, as if she's trying to figure out the gears.]

Now, why is it playing that song? We're after the creation of the Nutcracker--yes--but I'm very sure this is before recording devices were invented....

Maybe, because it's been on my mind. [In a dream, the tune would be influenced by their own thoughts and memories, wouldn't it? And if his mind would avoid the anachronism, it must be hers, changing just that one tiny thing.]

[ The Doctor turns and looks at her. Well, it'd make sense, but the ramifications-- ]

[Her brow furrows, just slightly, as she searches for an answer.]

No, that- [She almost continues, but in the end she pulls back.] -was something different, too.

[She manages that easy toss of her head, and acts as if the Doctor's been keeping her waiting.]

Everything repeats until it's stopped. [No matter what side someone stands on, it has to be acknowledged that the fate of the senshi worlds repeats endlessly until something breaks the cycle.]

[ He holds up his hand. Scritch. Scritch. ]

[She starts to shake her head, but then she gives him enough credit to pause - and listen.]

[ He glances around then moves back to the tree. ]

[she tilts her head, listening still, but she still comes up empty.]

Are you sure of what you heard?

I'm always sure what I heard--[ He stops and holds up his finger. That's the sound of squeaking. ]

Just a squeaking. It's probably some small animal.
