[Welcome to the beach. A beach with a clear, beautiful ocean and white sand. The kind of beach one might expect in pictures of a vacation resort. In the distance behind it is stands a grand city, her home and legacy. But the sun does not shine upon the beach. Night has taken over and the stars above are free to shine without a cloud to hinder them. Anyone who gazes up at the night sky might find another smaller and oddly shaped moon alongside it.

Seth is there, walking into the water until it reaches her knees. After which she proceeds to walk around in that depth with a faint smile on her face. Unlike most who’d go to the beach in a swimsuit she’s doing this in one of her short dresses. It is just water. No reason to fret over if it gets wet. After all who is going to care about a little wet clothing? ]

[Now the question: While she's here as Mizuno Ami, how much of her power does she want to use? But she's used to showing off these days; she's less cautious in other worlds, which she already assumes this is.]

How does six meters out and back sound? Or would you care for a different distance?

[Six meters. Barely anything; a fraction of a lap in a standard pool. But Ami agrees anyway.

Her agreement, true to form, comes in the shape of swimming those twelve meters, half a length all told. True to her word, she is far faster than a normal person would be; it wouldn't be a stretch to call it Olympic level.

[And that's why she liked shorter distances. She was better at gauging a person's abilities in short bursts. She never understood why it was like, maybe it had to do with her own abilities but ah well.

She waves a hand, dismissive and appearing care-free.]

I don't see many people who move like that, even with that speed.

I believe I wouldn't be much competition for you. [A lie but it doesn't stop her from going into deeper waters.]

But I suppose if you really want to I might be motivated to comply.

[She wants worthwhile fights. Even her enemies, she demands full attention and full effort from. And she herself is no longer anywhere near the shy girl who'd throw a competition to make the other person feel better.]

[She could have snorted. She could have laughed in the face of that statement. But that would be something she'll never be again: vulnerable. It would be saying how isolated she'd been.

Let them think what they like. It's worse if they pretend to try to end that loneliness.]

I'm not really interested in if you're different or not.

[It could equally be dismissiveness, or acceptance. After all, she had no qualms about whatever 'differences' Seth had.]

[Indifference was a beautiful thing. It made life much easier to deal with. But believing someone else wasn't something was accustomed to. Not without good reasoning of course.]

[She was supposed to become not indifferent, precisely, but confident; able to look at what people say and shrug and forget it because she knows the truth.

But she's never been perfect at being what she should. She changes the subject back.]

How about video games? Do you like them?

[THis is probably somewhat even ground; she has quite the aptitude for them, but nothing beyond what a normal person also could. Seth could probably manage quite well, too.]

[A brow raise. Video games...what. This only earns a rather vexed look. It might have been something she heard about many centuries ago but that was the past.]

You mean people use valuable technology for games? [The scientist in her doesn't find the idea all that logical.]

[The Senshi of Knowledge would perhaps agree that how much money is poured into video game development as opposed to other research is shameful. But she has ways to start fixing that slowly: the ear of the government even if she doesn't have official power herself, and her own research.]

They go too far with it, but it's fine to enjoy themselves sometimes, isn't it?

[She shakes her head. It wasn't that she disagreed with the concept of fun. Far from it. She was an Empress who ran around and enjoyed playing games with her people. But video games seemed like such a waste of technology and ability.]

I think people are capable of fun without the aid of technology.
