1st mission ☀ fun in the sun
[Reno's one of the hardest working women in Edge, and lately it seems like there's been nothing but work in her life, especially since the city got trashed by those freaks. So when she dreams tonight, her mind drifts away to somewhere quite different: the sunny shores of Costa del Sol--not the most exciting place, usually, but a far cry from the gray skies and grayer buildings of the city.]
☀ #1:
[Miles of pure, untouched, sandy coastline--so tempting to mar it with beer bottles and cigarettes, which is exactly what Reno has done, putting out all her cigarettes in the sand and leaving the green and golden-brown bottles strewn around her, gleaming in the sun. She herself is stretched out on a towel, wearing a black bikini, sunglasses on her face. She's twisted one of her bikini straps around to form a makeshift holster for her Electro-Mag Rod. Because this is a dream, there's no need to worry about the redhead's nemesis: sunburn. She could lie out here all day without turning so much as pink. Lounging beside her is another woman, but at some point she gets up and wanders off. Reno grunts and lets her go, lighting another cigarette and slipping it between her lips. She's sure Rude'll be back later.]
☀ #2:
[There's a party on the shore: a bonfire, people singing and dancing. Reno isn't exactly attending. Instead, she's slinking around in the dark, setting charges in the sand. Once she's done her work, and the festivities are surrounded, she leaves the revelers behind. When she gets some distance between herself and the party, she turns back, just in time to see the explosives go off and the sand go up. And to hear the people start screaming. She grins.]
☀ #3:
[Now Reno, still in her bikini, has engaged in a heated bout of fisticuffs with a large (and suspiciously attractive) young man. She has a black eye and her fists are bloodied, but she clearly is enjoying herself, and the man is in much worse shape. He's covered in bruises, and his nose is bleeding, but she shows no sign of relenting.]
[[OOC: Feel free to encounter Reno at any point during her dream.]]

If it ain't fun, maybe you ain't doing it right. [She points to her own collar bone, authoritatively.] I'm a professional information collector, and I know how to have a good time. [She is the best information gatherer, as far as she's concerned.] Don't worry, I'll help you out, give you a few pointers. Lesson one: nobody likes strange guys staring at them then saying they're "observing" them. That's weird. Either you be more subtle or you blend in.
[She laughs, then shrugs at the "cruel" thing. Not the first time she's been called cruel.] If it's my dream, it's all about what I want. [Having not previously been aware that this was a dream, Reno's mind accepts it without question, adapting quickly, and she takes control. With a quick gesture of her hand, the scene changes to a bar, Reno's favorite kind of vacation spot.] Want a drink, pretty boy?
no subject
It may be your dream, but my actions are still my own. There are times were dreams seem to crossover and link together. This is one of those such times. And, even I should not have to tell you that you do not always get what you want.
no subject
[She's fast in life and even faster in her dream. She appears at his side, changing the scene to--another bar, unsurprisingly, but this one louder, closer and more crowded--to close the distance between them in an instant. There's a drink in her hand, and she offers it to him. Whiskey: straight.] Maybe not always, but I usually get what I want. I'm lucky that way.
So, what's your name?
no subject
[ Loki simply lofts an eyebrow at her. Oh, this is lovely--which means he doesn't think it's that lovely. He glances around as the scenery changes and then sits down beside her. ]
Loki.
no subject
So, Loki, what's with the observing? What do you wanna know? Maybe if you play your cards right, I'll tell you something. [Wink.]
no subject
Simply as to why this phenomenon keeps happening. Nothing more.
no subject
She's still not sold on this "shared dreams" thing. She could easily have dreamed that up.]
That's boring, Loki. Do you want to be a boring guy? I hope not.
If you're really showing up in somebody else's dreams, why not enjoy yourself? That's what I'd do. Wait--you're saying I could show up in other people's dreams, too? [She has to laugh, at that.] Maybe I'll be in one of yours someday.

[ He shrugs with a smile. It doesn't bother him now. It's clear to him he'll never match up to his "brother" or anything Thor could accomplish. His "father" wouldn't accept him. ]
You certainly have the possibility. Although if you'd want to is another question entirely.
no subject
If anything, so far this guy reminds her a little of Tseng, who's on the "like" list, though really, she doesn't know anything about Loki yet.] Your brother, huh? What's he like?
Oh? Why wouldn't I want to? You have a lot of nightmares?
no subject
He is abrasive and headstrong. He has apparently grown quite the moral code as of late, but I do question it.
[ He grins. ] Normally one does not remember their dreams.
no subject
Moral code? [Now, that's funny. She snorts.] No, I don't think we'd get along. [Maybe Shinra's acting more in the public interest than before, but hey, things change, and Rufus knows what he's doing. It's all for a good reason, not to mention good publicity. It doesn't mean she's moral.] I don't do moral codes.
I remember them. Sometimes. I wouldn't know if I forgot them, since then I don't remember. [She has her share of nightmares, but living through the apocalypse will do that. Not that she'd talk about that.]

Everyone who says they've got one breaks it, even if they act all high and mighty, like they don't.
Everybody's got a breaking point, and everybody's got a price. It's just a matter of how high.
no subject
no subject
That said, when the Turks and Rufus aren't in play, things are different. She's more or less chaotic and self-involved.]
Like I said, I don't have a moral code, so if I feel like doing something, I will. Or if there's something in it for me. It depends.
no subject
[ Loki finally takes a seat. ]
no subject
What about you? What's your deal?
no subject
no subject
What're you gonna do now, Loki?
no subject
Parents aren't as reliable as one would think.
no subject
You need to get some friends, Loki, that's what you need. Who won't get sick of you. You could stand to be more fun. And you could stand a couple drinks in you. [She offers a glass again.]
I never thought parents were reliable. They're just the girl who squeezes you out and the guy who knocked her up.
no subject
I'm afraid that many do not find my company, ah, preferable.
no subject
Let me guess, it's got something to do with how well you carry a conversation. People are intimidated by all that charisma, right? [She laughs.]
It can't be your pretty face. There's nothing the matter with that.
no subject
More is in the fact they do not trust me, I'd imagine.
no subject
[She thinks, then does what is clearly meant to be a Loki impression. It's not the greatest, but it's not the worst. "Little enigmatic remarks" are also not her specialty.]
Trust is earned by the trustworthy.
