Third Entry

[If you've managed to stumble back into River Song's dreams, today you'll find yourself in a drab cement hallway, which seems to curve off into the distance indefinitely. There's a constant blueish teal light flooding the hallway, but the constant flashes of lightning through the windows in each of the cells lining the left wall nearly do more to light the place and the row of wall phones on the right than the lights. Much of the cells are empty, although there's evidence people ought to be living in them by personal belongings and messed covers. In the distance you might hear an indecipherable loud speaker, the clanging of metal, and marching boots of soldiers, but they never get louder no matter how far you go in either direction.

Eventually, you might find the one cell with a prisoner still inside. Doctor River song sits on her cot, scrawling an entry into an oversized and overworn blue diary. The stylish outfits she's worn are replaced by a dress that's little more than a rag, and her well-kept curls are a bit wild this time.

Once she's finished writing, she snaps the book shut and glances up with a smile.]

I thought you might be along.

[There are times she knows she needs to stop, times she knows she's on a collision course and the needs the crash so she doesn't go even farther.

Maybe it's not surprising Mercury's found herself in a prison, and then in a cell.

She would have expected taunting more than that smile. She frowns in the irritating vagueness of her own lack of understanding. Her voice comes out strong, almost demanding.]

What's this about?

If you were expecting me [she leaves the doubt open]

I want to know why. And I want to know where this is.

You're mistaken. [She doesn't even recognize the name. She recognizes the woman - from a cafe in Paris.]

whoops confusion between her and the TARDIS. >_< my apologies

[In a temple, rather. But the answer is the same, even if she'd been in that dream in the form of Mizuno Ami.]

It's been awhile since then. [She gives little sign of it, but it always strikes a chord when someone acts as though she's memorable. She's done a lot to become so.]

However, I definitely haven't been here before.

You said I'd been here before. [She frowns. She has the sensation of feeling her way blindly, and it makes her faintly irritable.]

Are you saying this is an illusion?

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-10-23 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Then stop talking in riddles and explain clearly.

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-10-23 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
That was already clear without you saying so!

[She wanted to know why it was claimed she'd been here- And then she understands, with the quick mind of Mercury: The place within the dream was the same, like saying someone had been to Tokyo if they'd been to its Juuban district.

She admits it somewhat sulkily.]

I understand.

I happened here by chance. You're the one who should make it interesting - if it's yours.

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-10-31 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Should I schedule in advance?

[identity profile] no-hometown.livejournal.com 2011-10-22 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Did you? [Sephiroth doesn't refute the claim, but he does find it curious. He was once kept in a cell, but not exactly as a prisoner.]

I wasn't expecting it, myself. What is this place?

[identity profile] no-hometown.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
I'm unfamiliar with the facility. Was your crime so monumental, then? [This may be a prison for the worst of criminals, but he remains polite.]

Do you know of me? I'm afraid I haven't had the pleasure.

[identity profile] no-hometown.livejournal.com 2011-10-24 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
And what did you do, if I may ask? [He wouldn't jump to any conclusions until he knows all the details--or believes he does. Besides, it isn't his place to judge criminals. He is a soldier.]

No, not that I recall. My name is Sephiroth.

[identity profile] no-hometown.livejournal.com 2011-10-31 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. [Sephiroth has only killed people on the battlefield, in the context of warfare, but he isn't particularly fazed by what she says. He's quite familiar with assassins in his line of work. He decides it would be impolitic to inquire further. He nods.] Doctor Song.

Perhaps we will, though I don't know when I'll have occasion to visit here again. This is another dream, I take it. So you are not truly bound here.
