First Entry

[Who ever said a dream had to be restful? Someone boring, probably. Certainly not any self respecting doctor of archaeology. At least not one answering to the name of River Song. And for fortunately anyone entering this specific dream hoping for adventure, that's exactly what she answered to.

The people who didn't would still have to run from a giant rolling boulder--classics were classics--and might have to deal with getting a little lost in the alien temple, too. They'd just enjoy it less.

At the center of the temple (deceptively close to the starting point, as dreams often were) sits River sprawled atop something that might look suspiciously like a certain ark, sipping from a golden goblet and laughing at a joke just missed. Or a joke all her own, given there's no one else in the room.]

You're late.

had to. XD

[Was everyone going to start telling her that in her dreams? Once she wakes up, it'll make her wonder in that nagging, uncomfortable way whether there's something she needs to be doing more quickly.

She, it turns out, is an Asian girl, perhaps in her late teens, modestly but fashionably dressed (despite the clothes being mussed and dirty after a faster-than-human-speed dash away from a boulder and the time it's taken to analyze and find her way through the temple layout).

Even as she catches her breath, she deserves a bit of her attitude after making it here. She angles herself facing River, and puts a hand to her hip even as her lips form a smirk.]

I'm worth waiting for. [Her eyes flicker to the artifacts.] Should I congratulate you now?

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-09-01 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
You were late. [No, she really can't resist, tone still light and flippant.] I've already had the one about the amusement park.

[And outside dreams, some rather useful clowns (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YXOPsqwreU) under her own orders there; but that was a long time ago, now.]

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
[She gives a soft laugh, not unpleasant; a rarity.]

Then how did it go?

no worries!

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-09-23 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Then there's no harm in making this into something new, now. Something more fun.

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-09-30 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes. There's always something even more.

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-09-30 11:09 am (UTC)(link)
You want a thrill, right?

Why not let me make that for you? [Oh, she'd love that, even with no tricks of her own involved: simply to be shaping the surroundings for the other woman.]

A maze. Of my making. For you to find the prize.

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-09-30 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
Not a labyrinth, then. [She's the goddess of knowledge; she can come up with any type of puzzle.]

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-09-30 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
[She seems unperturbed.]

Well, not yet. But we're both bored.

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-09-30 11:49 am (UTC)(link)
Oh? Nothing about it being a noble quest? [There's a slight undercurrent in her dismissive tone that suggests she'd rather not have the pastime clouded with ideals.]

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-09-30 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
[That, River, earns you a name and introduction.]

I'm Mizuno Ami. Let's get along well! [The smile is a bit too bright and overdone; she's still not used to acting energetic.]

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-09-30 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[That distracts her immediately.] A doctor?

[identity profile] stoleaherotitle.livejournal.com 2011-09-01 09:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Giant rolling boulders? For River, it might be classic, but for Mao, it was a cliche that was on its last legs, hence why he was not amused when he had to run from one.

Though, of course, the panic was part of it. It was definitely part of the reason why he froze up for a second before swearing something under his breath, pulling out a very large sword from nowhere and slicing the boulder clean through before stomping his way through the temple.

Of course, he gets lost, and once he emerges from the maze with a limp and a scowl, he looks like he's gone through quite a lot. His clothes have patches of dirt on them. Some parts have been torn and ripped, exposing bruises and scars, some not necessarily from this dream. There are fresh new scars on his legs, he's probably strained his ankle, and his hair now has a fresh layer of dirt and mud, in addition to his skin.]

How can I be late? I don't even know you. [Why, yes, he's extra grumpy.]

/pats

[identity profile] stoleaherotitle.livejournal.com 2011-09-24 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
I don't even know what you're talking about, why would you say I'm late?!

[identity profile] stoleaherotitle.livejournal.com 2011-09-30 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Stop calling me that!

[Ohoho, now there's the tsun!]

[identity profile] suchasadword.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 10:58 am (UTC)(link)
[There's always a secret passageway near the entrance that leads right to the end; easy exit-route once you've made it all the way through, of course. Or maybe it's simply been created by the whims of the dreamers. It doesn't really matter, either way, though. What does, is the buxom blonde perched atop an ark, giggling away. Well now.]

I'm never late! [Good gracious; like Doctor like Child.]

[identity profile] thatoldthatkind.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Oi! I am never late. Thank you. Except that one time, but that was entirely an accident.

[identity profile] no-icy-limits.livejournal.com 2011-09-02 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[Bobby had to slide around and blast a few temple traps before making it to the center. He's annoyed. He doesn't remember how he ended up in the temple in the first place.]

No, you're early.

no problem~

[identity profile] no-icy-limits.livejournal.com 2011-09-23 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't get an invite! I don't know how I ended up here. Why are you here?

[identity profile] no-icy-limits.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Since I didn't get the invite I'm not supposed to be here. And I'm gonna go with no. No it isn't.

[ Approaches, a small smile on his face. ] Am I? I'm sorry, then. Didn't know I had a schedule.
helpmeguideit: (Default)

all's good, i'm slow as slow things are

[personal profile] helpmeguideit 2011-09-24 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know, you never really miss fun if you can make your own.

I always try to.

[identity profile] auncyenhalig.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
It's lucky I'm here at all!

[identity profile] auncyenhalig.livejournal.com 2011-09-24 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
The boulder would argue with you. Ahhh, but... what am I late for, anyway?

[identity profile] auncyenhalig.livejournal.com 2011-10-01 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
A meeting with a rather interesting person, I'd say.
