1st Road
[The first thing one might notice when entering this dream, is the rain - heavy drops falling to the ground, pooling on the ground to puddles.
The Darkness weights heavy in this world and dream, shadows sliding over rain-slick streets, waiting waiting waiting to fight an opponent, to devour a heart, to create yet another of their kin.
But aside of the Heartless there is only one other being present in this dream, a boy, dressed in a dark coat, a hood hiding hair and face. He is wandering the city, ignored by the Heartless - as tempting as they might feel by the muted smell of his heart, there is something about him that warns them off; a strange, possessive smell that stems from one of their own.
It has been a long time since Riku's dreams have been anything, but this.
Anything, but dark.
He isn't bothered by that, not anymore. Not since realizing that someone has to bear the weight of the darkness.
That in this, he can protect all things he holds dear; even if once he has taken the last step, has accepted all of Ansem's powers as his own, he will no longer be able to return home or to his friends' side.
He has accepted that.
The darkness - be it real or dream - has long lost its terror to him.
So he continues wandering the streets, maybe aimless, maybe to find that one person he has been preparing to encounter.]

Look out! [ She runs closer to him before looking back, where the Heartless are still approaching. ] They just don't stop... do you know a place to hide?
no subject
Only then he turns back to her.]
Of course they don't. Your light calls to them.
[He sighs as he starts thinking - ultimately there is nothing like a hiding place in this world, not from the dark and its kin. But... there are a few places that they have a little more trouble reaching.
He turns on his heels.]
Follow me.

[ It's not hard to catch up to him though, and she leans forward to try getting a glimpse under the hood. ] So... they don't bother you? Unless you have a cute girl with you, I guess. What a pain.

[He continues walking along, turning his head ever so slightly, just to make sure that she is following and that no other Heartless are trying to attack. Maybe she'll just catch a glimpse of silver strands of hair peaking out of his hood.]
They don't, most of times. But I paid the price for that.
[Thanks to Ansem's powers, he is already too much like them - his heart appears claimed by the darkness. It comes in handy at times like this of course, but ultimately that hadn't been what the road to dawn was supposed to lead him to.]
gotta love how many times they talk about black capes...
But, just how many people wear black cloaks? And have silver hair at that age? ]
I hope it wasn't a high price... [ Though the way he said it was a bit ominous. ] Hey... do you know Sephiroth?
XD
[For Sora, for Kairi, for the sake of his home and his friends...
He had been the one to invite the darkness after all, how could he anyone else let protect them from it.
He frowns at the question; he can't help but wonder what brought that on all of sudden. After a moment however, he decides to answer.]
No. I've heard some rumors about him, but that's all.
faoiehofe I always mess up html
[ She's certainly less skittish now, though she still glances around occasionally to see if they're being followed. ]
Don't worry, it happens to all of us. <3
He reaches up in reflex when she mentions his hair, trying to fix whatever strand was giving him away.]
...I get by.
[Of course he is not all too worried about being mistaken, rather than being recognized by the Organization - he can't be entirely sure that that hasn't already happened, but it never hurts to be cautious, right?
That name, Aerith!, makes him think... he has heard it before, hasn't he?]
One of Sora's friends?
[Strange, the kings recent news had left him under the impression that she and Sora's other friends from Traverse Town were currently working on rebuilding Hollow Bastion...
Nevertheless... the feel of her light, the fact that she seemed to be one of Sora's friends, is enough to make him open up just a little.]
Riku.

Sora? Sorry, I don't know him. But it's nice to meet you. [ So... no. But hey. She's honest? ]
no subject
[He looks back at her - strange, he had been so sure... but then again, he had only seen Sora's Traverse Town friends from a far - it's not like he had ever talked, let alone met them.]
I must have mistaken you for someone else then. Sorry.

[His lips crack up into a smile as he listens to her talk.]
Or it might be your name.
no subject
--Huh, my name? Darn, and I always thought it was a rare one.
no subject
[He shrugs; he supposes it's rare, but that doesn't change the fact that there appears to be at least one more person with it out in the worlds.]

no subject
He doesn't actually remark that though, not when they finally reached their destination; one of the higher buildings within the Dark City. He steps forward, pushing the door open.]
It's this way.
no subject
So we're close? That's good... but hey. Is everything okay?
no subject
[He doesn't look at her however, and holds the door open for her to step inside.]
no subject
You're not fooling me.
[ But she doesn't push on it for the moment, instead moving further into the building and looking around, hands clasped behind her back. ]
So...they don't come in here?
no subject
No... but they have more trouble reaching high places, especially inside the buildings. Coming here should buy some time at least.
no subject
...What were you talking about before? About "light"?
Do you live here? [ Not such a happy thought, and she frowns a bit as she asks. ]
no subject
[The castle above the city is a totally different story though.]
I was talking about the light within the Heart. It calls to the Heartless.
...No. I don't.
no subject
[ ... Thaaaaat's about when the lightbulb goes off in her mind. Why yes, she is dreaming, isn't she? ]
no subject
Still, he can't shake the thought; could it really be just that, just a dream?]
...Even if it's a dream, it's better to stay away from the Heartless.
