[ Charles is standing in a field. Behind him - in a distance is a house that is his in Westchester in 1962. It's quiet here, and he is enjoying the quiet, though he definitely wasn't expecting it. Last he recalled, he was dripping wet and standing aboard a CIA ship. This was a pleasant surprise, and he was mostly aware that it was a dream. He let his hands slip into his pockets as he took to the quiet grounds.

It is bright outside, cloud free. He looks up, a smile spread across his lips. He thinks of Raven, and how much she might enjoy a few moments here with him. Then he thinks of those CIA agents that he had just met. The clouds change just a little bit when his thoughts change, briefly darkening. The smile fades, just a little, and is replaced with curiosity and a bit of concern.

He turns on a heel and looks around. He's never had a dream be so vivid. ]

[[ ooc; yaaaaaay. finally first posting. Also! permissions posts are good for telepaths. You can also note here on yes or no on mind-reading. :) ]]

[ She props one chin on her hand, that elbow rested by her other armas she watches him look around. ] I guess the flowers do look a bit too perfect. My garden's OK, but there's always late bloomers or weeds trying to sneak their way in. But an outdoor garden would probably be healthier anyway.

[ She smiles back brightly. ] My name's Aerith. Are you the gardener, or ... ? [ She stops, laughing lightly at herself; considering the size of the house, if he owns the property it's probably someone else doing the yardwork. ] Sorry, I just love flowers.

Say! Since now you know that this is a dream, is there anything you'd like to do? [ because after all, you can do just about anything in a dream. ]

[ Aerith nods, having watched him turn himself about with a patient expression. ] Kind of funny for something you made yourself, right? I've heard dreaming helps sort through your thoughts. And thoughts can get awful messy sometimes. But they're still yours! You have to say, 'I'm the one in charge.' [ She points a thumb at her chest with a brief, lopsided smile before she giggles, dropping her hands behind her back again. ] I still have a few funny ones, though.

no problem, LJ has been ultra fail for me anyway >_>

You don't like boats? [ She sounds mildly curious. She thought a boat would be all right if she didn't have to be a stowaway ... and if it didn't end up like her first trip had. ]

Nightmares are normal enough, I guess. [ She shrugs with a sheepish smile. ] I can get them to stop, but they still start up sometimes, stubborn things. And not all the dreams I see are actually mine. Kind of like this one. [ Some seem to be from the Planet, messages that she can barely sort out. Maybe if she knew more ... ]

But I'm used to a little weirdness. So it's no big deal! [ She pauses and then looks at Charles; so far this dream and him seem like the most normal she's encountered in Passing. ] It probably sounds weird to you though, huh.

Maybe the people still looking for it.

Even if it has strangers cropping up in your dreams? They can't all be pretty girls.

[ The answer makes her laugh. ] Flatterer. Most of us are, hm ...

[ She looks over at the mansion, tilting her head at it thoughtfully. ] Is it nice, having so much space to yourself?

Hee. That's true. I've just never seen such a large house before!

Could I see the inside, please?

What a gentleman! [ She links her arm in his, grinning widely. ] Maybe that's how you get such nice visitors. Okay, lead the way~

No, definitely not.

You know, the way it stands--it reminds me of the church back home, a little. They don't make buildings like this anymore in Midgar, it's all towers and skyscrapers up top. Kind of a shame. [ Though she can definitely see why. It takes up sooo much space. ]

It is a bit much for a family. You could fit a few dozen in here!

But I don't know. Something about this kind of place...really big and grand, but still warm. [ She looks at the furniture, her hand skimming over the surface of a side table. ] And all the nature around outside. You're very lucky.

[ There's a small change in her smile, a new easiness to it, like Charles has exceeded a personal expectation she had. To be honest, a lot of the rich people she's encountered in Midgar don't think about their luck. They talk about their hard work, their deserving, their "right" as if it would be an upset in the very world order for what they have to be taken away. And ignoring luck, they look down on the poor and scorn their hard work.

Hearing Charles acknowledge his luck makes her happy. She doesn't feel like he would look down on her just for having less. ]

Mm... Well, if it ever feels too big, I'm sure there's more than one way you could use a house like this. Like... [ She taps her finger against her chin. ] Like a hotel!

Can I hear, or should I wait and see?
