[ The dream tonight is a rather empty one, compared to the brilliant things that people could find themselves in. A simple beach surrounded by mountains, clear blue skies and a deep blue lake, and a small picnic area set to the side. The moon can be seen, despite it being day, rippling in the water. By the waterfront is an old station wagon, and of course the Doctor. He stands with his hands in his pockets, staring out over the restless waters, with his back to the dreamer.

He seems older than normal. He doesn't look a day older, but his shoulders are sagged and his head held as if he were carrying burdens upon burdens of the universe - similar to Atlas. With a deep sigh, he tilts his head back and looks up at the sky. ]

(ooc: This is Future!Eleven for the time event! As explained in the ooc post, it means this is the Eleven we see from the beginning of Impossible Astronaut as opposed to the Eleven from The Doctor's Wife. Your character doesn't need to be affected by the event to tag him, but Eleven will be acting as if he has known your character for nearly two hundred years~ )

To see it. Have you documented it at all? I would be interested to read through your research.

I just thought... if we could do this, if people could truly dream together, we could accomplish truly great things. Combining our thinking so directly would lead to immense, rapid progress.

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-06-19 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
To discuss these ideas in person. In waking life.

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-06-20 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
No one has managed anything like that before, sharing ideas directly between their minds.

[Even among the senshi, even among the shitennou, there is a certain psychic bond but it is very vague. It's certainly not precise enough to allow for this sort of direct idea sharing. Even storing the Queen's consciousness in the castle computers had been very different.]

Do you think it may be possible?

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-06-20 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Someone talking about separate timelines, even. Mercury's brows draw a fraction of an inch closer together.

It explains a lot. Being here, for one. Dreaming like this. An interruption in the normal timeline. But then- how? Why?

Who?]

Some day, then. I'll look forward to seeing that future.

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-06-20 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
That is our purpose. [An enriching, rewarding duty: overseeing all of that development, bringing humanity into the future.]

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-06-20 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
[That begs the question, and after a moment to decide the chance at a similarity outweighs the rudeness in asking so directly, she says it.]

Then is it the same for you?

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-06-20 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
But you seem to understand. Is that right?

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-06-20 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
[Mercury hesitated. It went against her grain to ask these questions, but she was lured on by the simple fascination of never having met someone like this before. When she awoke, she would have a deeper understanding of the man who'd been in her dreams.

Finally, she made up her mind to go on.]

Will you tell me about it? About yourself? I think... it seems as though you are also not human. But you are not from the Moon Kingdom, either.

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-06-20 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
A guardian of time? [For that matter, a guardian of time?]

As the last one, you must feel the loss of the others. I am sorry for that. [She takes a step nearer, though not too close to his personal space.]

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
[The similarity is enough to overcome reticence. Mercury looks, really looks, at the Doctor now.]

We are also guardians. But there is a prophecy that this will end.

[She says it thoughtfully; a woman like her lives between a world of magic and a coolly practical one. She has not yet decided what she believes.]

Our princess must become more careful and discreet in times like this.

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
People worry about the prophecies. [And though it'd be disloyal to say it to an outsider, it'd help if the princess weren't also determined to flout the law and the taboos, sneaking off to Earth so often.]

[identity profile] waterfell.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Mercury has the disconcerting, sickening feeling of complete foreignness. There is almost no one in her world who wouldn't know what she means. Yet he seems bright, educated, in control of his faculties...

Worse, it leaves her with the question of what to say, the question of if she should say anything at all. It's the fear stirred up by those worries that is beginning to cause strife. She turns away, to look across the shining surface of the lake.]

It might be better if you were not told.

[She says this almost to herself. A moment passes silently while she finishes deciding. Then:]

There are prophesies forbidding Earth and Moon to meet. I should not be here. However, I do not know how I came here. [This time, her mind adds guiltily.]
