[Tonight, instead of being greeted by the usual sort of scenery one would find in a dream, you will find yourself in a cave. Yes, a cave. It's not exactly the most rugged and untamed cave there is, however. In fact, it seems as if people come and go through this cave relatively often. The reason for that being that, well, people do traverse this cave often. For those familiar with the Unova region, you might recognize it as a part of Victory Road. It also happens to be far from empty at the moment. Disregarding the teenaged boy and his Pokemon (he was training them, since that was clearly the only reason to be in this cave), there were other Pokemon--Durant and Boldore, mostly, with the occasional Swoobat here and there--moving in and around the chamber. The boy is clearly wrapped up in training his Pokemon at the moment, but you know, if you make a noise, chances are he'll pay you some attention.]

[Serperior takes the hit, and pretty hard, as well. It's none too pleased about this, clearly, as it lashes its tail out at the Oshawott in retaliation for the hit.]

It put up a good fight. You shouldn't wander around with your Pokemon injured, though. Here. [he tosses some revives and potions Ami's way. He might be a jerk, but he will heal other people's Pokemon after a battle. Sometimes.]

New to training doesn't necessarily mean you only have one Pokemon. Some people catch others soon after their first.

I haven't had that chance. [Considering she spends the vast majority of her time, all her waking life in fact, in worlds with no pokemon at all.]

I'll look forward to it. I'd recommend getting a type to balance out Oshawott. Grass, electric, or fire would all be good choices; they cover weaknesses, and allow for a more even overall defense for your team.

I'm comfortable with ice or water types. [Her team is likely to be unbalanced; though perhaps it's possible to be aware of balance while still favoring one element.]

In that case, you'll want dual-typed Pokemon to balance things out. There aren't too many different combinations of water Pokemon, but there are a few water/grass types, as well as at least two water/electric Pokemon.

Really, you can't go wrong with Starmie. It's a water and psychic type, so that gives it a pretty nice coverage. Lanturn, as a water and electric type, works well even if its stats are somewhat lacking in places. Ludicolo is a good water and grass type, and water and ground types are a good choice, as well. Perhaps you could add a dual water and ice type, since you mentioned liking ice types, as well.

I've researched some of them before, in the library. [Because this is how Mizuno Ami learns about the world. Hush.] Maybe I'll capture one soon. Water and Ice.

For the ice types, though, there isn't as much diversity in dual types, as there are far more single-type ice Pokemon. Weavile, Walrein, and Froslass are probably some of your best bets as far as dual types go.

Is there something wrong with that? Reading is the easiest way to get advice from more knowledgeable people that you can then apply to the real world. [NOT THAT OTHERS HE'S USED TO BEING AROUND SEE THAT.]
