[004 ☿] The far-off past
Ami is easily recognizable, but changed. She wears an elegant but modest royal gown with the skirts spread demurely over her lap, and the sigil of planet Mercury shows plainly on her forehead in pale blue. Princess Mercury, Ami, sits by a fountain in the inner courtyard of a vast marble palace, all enclosed by a dome. Light music surrounds her as she idly plucks a gentle tune on a rich harp, smiling and contented. Water lilies rest on the surface of the shallow pool.
The ground her skirts brush is of a different texture. This is the Moon and not Earth; Earth hangs large and beckoning in the sky like a ball of blue crystal. The air, artificial, seems still and quiet. Yet for all that, it is still a beautiful place of graceful lines and symmetry. Despite the ancient-seeming architecture, high technology is evident from the door mechanisms to the strategically placed viewscreens that show glimpses of Earth and its flowered fields blown by true winds, to the dome itself.
Welcome to the Silver Millenium paradise of the Moon Kingdom.
(ooc: bad ending will be the war and end of this world/the past life; feel free to let me know if you want to go there or not.)

[Mercury...might want to make sure a certain apprentice of the shitennou isn't in the mood to play a few pranks on her dear friend. Especially since there seems to be a letter in her hand...
As for Whitlea herself, her appearance has changed. In the place of her usual outfit, she's wearing a dress looking more suited to combat, not that she does much of it, seeing as she uses her talents with youma instead.]
Got it. :D
Something for me? [She almost doesn't dare hope it's word from Earth. The two races aren't meant to mix, but that's been thrown by the wayside with the relationship between the prince and princess.]
Please, let me see it.

[She stares down at her lap. The color rises in her face. It's from him. Only rigid composure and self-control keep her from crying out in pain as her face breaks out in a terrible rash. She quickly covers her mouth, as if that can cover most of the horrible red.]
no subject
Oh, Mercury! Sorry, sorry, sorry! Where is it, where is it, where is it, I swear I'll sic them on him once I get back...
no subject
Well, done is done. The rash is already all over her face. She picks up the paper with a tiny wince, and reads.]

...Sorry.

You were only a messenger.
[The sender of the note himself couldn't have predicted this; though he was likely amusing himself by the thought of her reaction, her allergy is something kept very quiet.]
no subject
...So how are you?
[And apparently she'll avoid it for a long while.]
no subject
I've been well. Was there another message? [Or.. something?]
no subject
[And at the "he", her voice takes on a teasing tone.]

So we can write like this, when we can't meet.

[She doesn't mind Serenity, really. She just does not want the girl to hitch a ride with her whenever she comes to the Moon Kingdom just as she returns to Earth all the time.
Besides, how can you forget a grand ball?]
no subject
Everyone has been working very hard throughout the castle. It will be beautiful.

[A ball doesn't hold nearly the appeal for her; she's not the sort surrounded by lively voices and laughter. Instead, the Princess of Mercury is of regrettably high enough status to be plagued by men who'd like to use her as a step up for themselves.
It seems to be the only type who approaches her.
...Except for him.]
I will certainly be there.

I seem to be very fortunate.

Just tell me if you're in trouble, and I'll come help out, all right?
