[002] Doctor's Hours
This is a waiting room inside a large hospital, comfortably furnished and provided with a mixture of medical journals and fashion magazines. After a reasonable wait, a bustling nurse calls out the appointments, everyone who arrives. "Doctor Mizuno will see you now."
Inside the doctor's office, bookshelves line every wall, packed with heavy textbooks. Doctor Mizuno, remarkably young for her title (youngest in her world, it's rumored) sits behind the sturdy desk with a quiet, self-satisfied smile. She's wanted to be in this place for so long; the thrill of finally achieving it hasn't worn off even in dreams. It's enough to make her smile in the faces of the people who think she's only here because of her mother's famous name, and go about showing them how wrong they are by her results.
"How are you feeling today?" she asks her patient.

"How is your grip with the affected hand?" If had been immobilized for very long while healing, in Ami's world it would have taken away to get back to workable shape.
As she speaks, Ami reaches for the arm to put it through its paces herself. Her touch - here and now, at least - is firm and confident, but seems to know how to stop short of pain or resistance.

"My grip has been steady," with a small wince, she twisted that hand back and though it seemed to rotate fine, there was a lot of tension therein as she did so. "I will admit it affects my finesse, and there is a dull ache that persists after training." Yes, 'training' not 'physical therapy'.

"I assume you want to be back in top training shape as quickly as possible. Right now, I'll recommend some new exercises - I'll demonstrate them for you if you want - and some muscle relaxants. They should help you get a better range of motion so you can work out the stiffness."

"You are right about that," she intones with a small smile. "I have been given some salves, but they don't seem to be particularly effective." Calpurnia scrunches her nose up. "--and they small to Holy Terra. I'll be glad to be free from having to use them."

Ami hears Calpurnia out with a vague, professional smile and nods at the end. "These will be in capsule form," she assures her patient and adds slyly, "I won't offend your senses."
*smell to -- oh, how I miss the Edit button ><
She flexes her hand again, feeling strangely at ease. Perhaps it was the promise of recovery that did it. A boost in morale. "What of those exercises?"
:comfs: It's ok <3
"Go ahead," she invited when she finished. "I'll make corrections if I need to."

(ooc: sorry for the delay. LJ uptime drama + prose + allergies = lame tagging speed. OTL)

(ooc: no worries, LJ has been in and out for me, too)

After a beat, she sets down her hands, looking at Ami expectantly. "Will that be all for this exam?"
(ooc: because of the slowness, I think I'd like to wrap things up then? the sporadic access to the site has me rather frustrated and I hate leaving things untagged. ^^; )

(ooc: absolutely. XD they can meet up again sometime when LJ is behaving.)

"If I need anything further, I will be in touch."
