01 :: you can never go home
[ You're in front a large gate with the initials 'N.N.' in cursive on it. It's far too large to climb over and chained securely shut... for a second or so. Then suddenly that chain falls off and the gates open ominously. In front of you is a beautiful, endless estate. You will find a mansion, pool house, and even a hedge maze should you chose to explore. (Just ignore the gate snapping shut behind you and the chain resuming its spot.) Out of the corner of your eye, you will see either a young woman trying to find a way out or a young girl playing innocently. When you turn to look at them though they are always gone. Maybe you should try calling out to one of them? Surely they can help you either seach this place or find a way to escape. That gate thing was a little creepy but, there is a pool house. ]

"I realized that here." She stops where the blood starts pooling. "I started to cry and begged for a friend of mine to help me. We both knew he couldn't but, I was desperate. I thought if he could just keep me alive long enough to see Bruce that I could die in peace." She exhales softly. "But he was badly injured and my heart stopped beating. I died right here in his arms regretting ever being born. It was tragic and fitting all at once."

"I left Bruce and the others and put all my efforts toward killing them. I failed obviously." She pauses before glancing at Candy. "Don't worry. My friend succeeded. He made them pay for their crimes. People don't die the way I died anymore."

Which might explain why Candy was suddenly wrapping her arms around Elektra and holding her. "I'm sorry." That it all happened. That I left you. Just sorry for everything.

"I should have been there for you, though. I should have been there to help." She didn't want to leave everyone behind like that, but she hadn't had the choice. That didn't mean she didn't regret being made to, and that she didn't wonder what had happened to all of them. Now she saw.
