It was a night like any other. The sun had long set as "Masumi," on her way home from the one of Juuban's photo labs -- had spotted a youma draining the life force from an innocent bystander! And obviously she couldn't have that! As she held her hand in the air, she transformed into the sailor suited soldier of love and justice... Sailor Mnemosyne!

She sprinted forward, confident that she would reach the scene in time before it was too late. Jumping up to the roof with the moonlight shining at her back, she called out bravely -- "Hold it right there!" Striking a pose, she sized up the monster below, and took note of the captive in its grip. "Picking on those who want to reminisce about loved ones is disgraceful! One of the most precious things is recalling times of spent with friends and family! In the name of the river of memories, Mnemosyne, Sailor Mnemosyne won't forgive you!"

( 'syne's new career just so happens to be that of a legit sailorsenshi!! replies as allies, enemies or even those mistaken as the 'youma' are welcome ;] )

"Following orders?!" her eyebrows laced up in confusion as the reality of the situation set in -- "You mean you -- !!" her surprise contorted into a mixture of desperation. "But you're a sailorsenshi! We're not supposed to fight one another!"

"What do I care about 'we're both sailor senshi'?" Mercury returned. "We have opposite intentions here." And that meant, the question of sailor senshi aside, they were going to fight.

Still, Mnemosyne's emotion could be useful. While they faced each other, the youma had nearly finished gathering its energy. Mercury was willing to argue for as long as that took.

"Why!" came her next question quickly, "Why would a sailor senshi send out a youma to hurt someone?! I don't... I won't believe it!" and with that, she jumped backwards, raising her hand into the sky, and readying to aim an attack at the creature. She wouldn't be afraid... this was the right thing to do!

"Myosotis Al--"

Mercury didn't even let the words finish before a quick slash against the air with her own sword sent an arc of dark energy straight at Mnemosyne. There was no hesitation to suggest that she was conflicted, not now.

She took a strong stance after releasing the attack, already preparing for more. "You were already told not to interfere," she said coldly.

Mnemosyne jumped back, her fuku catching the swords's tip as her eyes widened. Was she going to have to fight another sailor senshi? "How could..." her eyes glistened, obviously tormented by the choice, "how could you?!"

That, perhaps even more strangely than anything up until then, made Mercury pause, just for an instant. But she couldn't bring herself to speak of her motives, too personal and too private.

Too emotional herself. There was no place for that, here.

"I have my own goals and purposes," was all she said.
