There are whole new worlds out there. Some people know this already, some are learning it for the first time. Tonight, it's a world of mystery where nothing seems to work entirely by normal logic and everything familiar from waking life can become different. Flowers have a temper and may not like being picked, animals wear dapper clothes, and all of them talk. Some of them are helpful.

Whether flitting around the edges of this world at the Rabbit Hole or the Entryway, caught up in the Mad Hatter's tea party, taken to the Castle of the Queen of Hearts, the Croquet Ground, or somewhere entirely different, it's Wonderland. Be careful: The signs shouldn't always be obeyed.

(Notes: This is a log to keep together threads exploring Wonderland. Relevant threads can also be made as separate posts throughout the rest of the month or beyond. Mostly, this is an experiment to see how a mass log will work for world exploring. As usual with OPN, it is entirely optional and creative liberty is fine and encouraged while working within the setting. Feel free to use the location notes as prompts, but also feel free to do something else entirely. More world suggestions always accepted here.)

[He stays silent, still staring at her as he's moved into the dollhouse. Not so much as a threat, but a guarantee he will toss that olive at Ami if he sets a foot at the dollhouse.

Which may probably happen.]

[Oh, she won't make him set a foot in the dollhouse.

She'll make him set both feet in the dollhouse. Ami moves to set John down on the first floor, between the kitchen and a living room.

She thoughtfully sets down a tiny corner of sandwich in the kitchen. It takes up the entire surface of the table.]

[.......

The tiny Spartan stares for a long moment in surprise. Wondering if it was his imagination or Ami's will what landed him in here.

He looks at the massive sandwich set covering the table. Then tosses the olive at Ami.]

[The olive arcs towards its target perfectly, and hits with a tiny, cute, 'bomp!' Ami sticks out her hand, palm upward by reflex, and catches it as it drops after hitting her.]

[Unfortunately, that is the last olive he also had, so his only remaining option turns to stare at her while he's stuck in the dollhouse.

Insatisfaction as readable as a sign in bold letters.]

[She's willfully oblivious to the discomfort.]

Make yourself at home!

My home wasn't a dollhouse.

[Still staring at her. That grinning witch.

He's not moving in.]

But right now, you don't need all that extra space! This is more convenient. [Definitely a brat, at least.]

I'd use something more dignifying.

[Complete brat.]

[Oh! She knows the perfect suggestion!]

A model spaceship?

Don't get any funny ideas.

[Too perfect for his liking.]

Let's see... there should be other toys around here somewhere! [Blissfully ignoring you, John.]

[While Ami is busy ignoring him and looking for toys, John does the next best thing.

He tries to escape.]

[Ami doesn't notice at all. But as John starts to make his way down to the first floor, and to the ground from there, someone else has noticed. There's a terrible noise, and a gaping mouth full of sharp teeth... as an enormous, curious kitten mews at the interesting creature. It draws back a paw to bat playfully at John.]

Luckily, John gets through the surprise once it swats its' paw at him. he moves back as his shields lighten for a moment.

He remembers his training. Animals come over moving things, which is a part in which he had already failed; on another, animals move back when their faces are threatened, or in some cases, react in ways they don't expect.

So he moves forward, trying an unflinching walk. Before slightly slapping the cat in the nose.

It'd help to see if there was something else to work with.]

[The kitten bounds back a step or two, but it's getting more curious and likely to swipe again. Luckily, there's a marble nearby that could serve as a projectile to try to drive it off.]

[He moves, slowly, to get ahold of the marble, as the cat looks at him.

He holds the marble out, showing it to the cat... before letting it roll a little quickly to his left, as a diversion.]

[The kitten quite happily forgets about the mini-Spartan as the marble distracts it. It pounces as the little glass ball rolls across the floor, giving John his opening to run.]

[To run and to hide. Luckily for him, he's swift enough to manage to hop in from platform to platform, into a more secure spot with a better view.

This time, he blends within the rest of Ami's objects.]

[It's right then that Ami glances back to see-

It's what she doesn't see that bothers her. Where is John? She turns sharply, peering everywhere near the dollhouse. (Did he run off...?)]

John?

[She peers around and under the various furnishings, increasingly quickly.]

[He hears Ami's voice. Knowing there is a cat around, he can't just call out to her.

Instead, he taps the most solid object to call her attention. And hope Ami hears it first.]

[Luckily for him, she does hear it. Her head jerks in that direction and Ami heads over there immediately. Her eyes widen when she spots John, already a fair distance from where she'd left him (relative to his current size, at least.)

She has the uncomfortable sensation that she shouldn't have teased him like this.]

Why are you over here?

[He silently points at the cat busy with the marble.

A fair reason in his size.]

[... She can't help being amused. At her current size, of course, it's far from a threat. In fact, she simply reaches down to pick the kitten up, holding it firmly in her arms.]

The problem should be removed now.

[His visor continues to look at the cat for a while. Naturally, not trusting the thing until it was someplace else other than this room.]
