[World Exploration] Wonderland
Who: Everyone! Open to All. World inhabitants can be npc'd as needed.
What: World Exploration : Suggestion Info here
When: all through November and beyond
Where: Locations in comments, or add your own.
There are whole new worlds out there. Some people know this already, some are learning it for the first time. Tonight, it's a world of mystery where nothing seems to work entirely by normal logic and everything familiar from waking life can become different. Flowers have a temper and may not like being picked, animals wear dapper clothes, and all of them talk. Some of them are helpful.
Whether flitting around the edges of this world at the Rabbit Hole or the Entryway, caught up in the Mad Hatter's tea party, taken to the Castle of the Queen of Hearts, the Croquet Ground, or somewhere entirely different, it's Wonderland. Be careful: The signs shouldn't always be obeyed.
(Notes: This is a log to keep together threads exploring Wonderland. Relevant threads can also be made as separate posts throughout the rest of the month or beyond. Mostly, this is an experiment to see how a mass log will work for world exploring. As usual with OPN, it is entirely optional and creative liberty is fine and encouraged while working within the setting. Feel free to use the location notes as prompts, but also feel free to do something else entirely. More world suggestions always accepted here.)

Entryway
(ooc: results of eating or drinking here would be entirely up to the involved muns, and could have physical or mental affects.)

I'm just going to break this entire room, I don't have time for this.
no subject
I hope I don't need to tell you this, but despite the invitation, you should avoid eating anything in this place.
[Whether she knew something, or was simply speaking common sense when in a strange place looking at strange food, she left unsaid.]
no subject
[Which was why he offered to break this place.]
How did you get involved in this mess.

[Her solemn face suggests nothing strange about a teenage girl chasing down... whoever or whatever she may be referring to. She carries no obvious weapon; once she lost her quarry, she had allowed her bow to vanish.]
no subject
There's no way back, is there.
no subject
Despite the lack of outward emotion, this bothers her. It's too like a witch's barrier, a trap.
"We may not be able to leave until we find the source of what's keeping us here." If it's a witch or a demon, she can finish hunting it down, get rid of it, and the barrier should dissipate, returning this place to normal.
Should.

There appears to be a door. [The trouble is that the door is not only almost impossible to see, but entirely too small for either of them to fit through.]

Instead, she's managed to catch a white rabbit (how convenient) and is planning to use the animal as her own personal test subject to solve the riddle of this room.
Not that she wants to hurt it for no reason, so she's having a bit of trouble getting it to choke down a cookie. Rabbits don't like being forced to eat cookies, as it turns out. But she's going to figure out what these drinks and cookies do one way or another. (And hopefully won't get crushed by a giant rabbit in the process.)

Not good. Most traps she's experienced are not the sort people get out of alive very easily. Still calm despite that knowledge, she turned back to Reno.
"How long will you take to finish feeding it?" Evidently, she got the point, if she's willing to wait.
no subject
"Give me a minute, unless you want to volunteer to take its place." She didn't worry about the other's safety too much. As long as Reno wasn't the one drinking the mysterious potions, she was good.
The rabbit seemed to be giving in, maybe taking pity on her at last. "This has gotta be the way out. Somehow." Her peerless logic and intuition told her it was. It wasn't like there was anything else in the room. She'd already searched for hidden panels and switches, and if a Turk couldn't find hidden panels and switches, there probably weren't any.

Once they determined the effects, they could see whether some be advantageous to their escape.

"I will hold it. Once I have it firmly, you will be able to give it the drink easily."

She jumped back just in time, reaching out to grab Homura's arm and pull Homura away with her, as suddenly, the rabbit was a great deal bigger than it had been previously. Reno looked up at it, wide-eyed. "Shit."
no subject
Just then, Reno pulled her away. Homura may have appreciated the act; but she treated the giant rabbit with the same calm she'd shown towards feeding the small one. She was alert, but far from seeming worried or even shocked.
"We will have to deal with that creature at its new size." She has a feeling leaving things like this would make an even worse situation.
no subject
"How's this supposed to help us? Give us more to eat for dinner so we don't starve in here?"
no subject
"There are other foods available. One may be a remedy; however, they may have affects as unusual as this one."
no subject
"I'm not eating something if I don't know what it does, period." She looks down at the remains of the cookie in her hand. She knows what that does. If she were larger, she might be better able to force their way out of here. She wouldn't have to worry about the giant rabbit, that's for sure.
So she takes a bite. Suddenly, she's much larger than the rabbit. All right, maybe it wasn't the best idea, maybe even rash, but how could she resist being giant Reno, if only for a little while? "Hey, how's that for a growth spurt? Now let me see if I can't get something done."
went with the bottle after all since the other cake is later in the story haha
But while the giant handles the enormous rabbit, she can look for one. And then she remembers it: an old story, where a girl switched sizes with everything she ate...and drank. The bottle had made her smaller.
It hadn't been sound logic, but neither was this situation.
"Make the rabbit drink from the bottle," she calls up to Reno. "It should return it to its normal size."
