There are whole new worlds out there. Some people know this already, some are learning it for the first time. Tonight, it's a world of mystery where nothing seems to work entirely by normal logic and everything familiar from waking life can become different. Flowers have a temper and may not like being picked, animals wear dapper clothes, and all of them talk. Some of them are helpful.

Whether flitting around the edges of this world at the Rabbit Hole or the Entryway, caught up in the Mad Hatter's tea party, taken to the Castle of the Queen of Hearts, the Croquet Ground, or somewhere entirely different, it's Wonderland. Be careful: The signs shouldn't always be obeyed.

(Notes: This is a log to keep together threads exploring Wonderland. Relevant threads can also be made as separate posts throughout the rest of the month or beyond. Mostly, this is an experiment to see how a mass log will work for world exploring. As usual with OPN, it is entirely optional and creative liberty is fine and encouraged while working within the setting. Feel free to use the location notes as prompts, but also feel free to do something else entirely. More world suggestions always accepted here.)

[Even with his small size, he'd try to find his way out of a dollhouse. Not that he moves away as the girl looks at him like a small toy.

He looks back at the giant(?) cake.]

... Some until we get out of here.

[There's nothing for John to use as a plate, so Ami sets him down on the table to use the side of hers. She carefully cuts off a tiny corner of her slice of cake with the side of her fork. It's still a daunting size, and mis-proportioned.]

Everybody likes cake. [Smug of her.]

[His feet slowly hit the ceramic below him. With the whole plate looking like a platform, his weight does nothing to misbalance it. It bothers him a little to feel too light when in armor.

The piece is ridiculously big. He removes his small helmet, and takes a laughably puny knife to cut a bit of the cake before--

He instinctively steps back.]

Smells too sweet.

[At John's current size, it probably smells a lot like being in the middle of a bakery.

But too sweet? Not to Ami, evidently, as she's already eaten a frightening quantity and seems to enjoy it. Luckily, the tea is stocked with other delicacies that aren't nearly as sweet.]

There are cucumber sandwiches. [These do not make for substance. But there they are. It would be an achievement to climb the pile of them right about now.]

He stares at said cucumber sandwiches on top of the hill as if it was a chopped liver.]

What's wrong with ham sandwiches?

Go ahead! - if you can get them. [Ami makes a little, theatrical gesture towards another plate. There's an equally daunting mountain of ham and swiss.]

[He turns his head at the other plate. And another mountain. His boots were soaked in tea, so Ami wouldn't get to berate him if he went on a climb.

His armor moves up on the hill, and while his boots don't soak the bread as much as he thought, they're also sinking it a lot.]

[Ami doesn't offer any help. Evidently, she enjoys watching tiny Mjolnir armor climbing mountains of sandwiches.

He could stay on the ground and simply tear off pieces from the lowest sandwich, but that could unbalance the whole stack.

Besides, she thinks, he seems to enjoy challenges.]

[John mentally vows to get payback somehow.

He stays silent with the comical encouragement, opting instead to continue climbing until he reaches the top.

Finally being at the top, he finds the mythic ham sandwiches with olives. And comes to the conclusion it is all still too big. He looks at Ami.]

[Ami doesn't let John enjoy his victory for long. Not even long enough to sample one of the too-big sandwiches. Instead, her hand comes up to gently pick him up, showing little or no regard for his feelings on the matter.

Behind her is a dollhouse. It's roughly a normal-sized house to John at the moment. Guess where he's going if he lets her get away with it?]

It has everything you need!

[There is one thing John managed to grab before Ami picked him up with a single hand.

He looks at the dollhouse. Then threatens Ami with an olive.]

[While John's training is impressive, and his weapons proficiency is admirable, an olive fails to be a terrifying threat, even in his hands.]

Looks delicious! Shall I eat it?

[one_one_se7en]

[He stays silent, still staring at her as he's moved into the dollhouse. Not so much as a threat, but a guarantee he will toss that olive at Ami if he sets a foot at the dollhouse.

Which may probably happen.]

[Oh, she won't make him set a foot in the dollhouse.

She'll make him set both feet in the dollhouse. Ami moves to set John down on the first floor, between the kitchen and a living room.

She thoughtfully sets down a tiny corner of sandwich in the kitchen. It takes up the entire surface of the table.]

The tiny Spartan stares for a long moment in surprise. Wondering if it was his imagination or Ami's will what landed him in here.

He looks at the massive sandwich set covering the table. Then tosses the olive at Ami.]

[The olive arcs towards its target perfectly, and hits with a tiny, cute, 'bomp!' Ami sticks out her hand, palm upward by reflex, and catches it as it drops after hitting her.]

[Unfortunately, that is the last olive he also had, so his only remaining option turns to stare at her while he's stuck in the dollhouse.

Insatisfaction as readable as a sign in bold letters.]

[She's willfully oblivious to the discomfort.]

Make yourself at home!

My home wasn't a dollhouse.

[Still staring at her. That grinning witch.

He's not moving in.]

[waterfell]

But right now, you don't need all that extra space! This is more convenient. [Definitely a brat, at least.]

I'd use something more dignifying.

[Complete brat.]

[Oh! She knows the perfect suggestion!]

A model spaceship?

Don't get any funny ideas.

[Too perfect for his liking.]

Let's see... there should be other toys around here somewhere! [Blissfully ignoring you, John.]

[While Ami is busy ignoring him and looking for toys, John does the next best thing.

He tries to escape.]
