Create a new future for yourself
"So instead of having to become a youma, please kill me!"
She's lived this too many times to think he's not serious. This boy would rather throw his life away than to live as she has lived, reborn within the Darkness. Mercury glances away. She's lived this too many times to be disturbed, and yet something inside her won't be quiet. He's led her to the same place, she notes, a secluded side street, as if he was hoping to keep bystanders away.
"Youma Bunbo," she addresses him, "If there's a future you don't want to see, then fight to make the one you want."
Before he can even answer, there's a sound of mocking laughter. Zoisite arrives, and extracts the warrior youma reincarnated inside this pacifistic human boy. It's enormous, like a giant machine, fitted with razors for arms. The yellow rainbow crystal sealed within the monster carries a faint glow as it emerges. She reaches for it, but just then, the shitennou orders the youma to attack the sailor senshi.
Incredibly, impossibly, it attacks Zoisite instead. It rears back to its full, massive height and throws itself at its target. Even Mercury takes in a sharp breath of surprise at the boy who managed to retain his human mind even in a youma's form. The force of the blow knocks the crystal from the general's hands, and she recovers herself to spring forward and snatch it up.
She doesn't fully understand it herself, but in that moment, Mercury becomes conscious that she wants it to end differently this time.
(ooc: waking life version of events from several ic years ago here. characters replying will be able to help it diverge and change the ending.)

There was no time for surprise. Zoisite was in the middle of throwing a tantrum at yet another unexpected arrival, but he managed to hold himself together enough to hold up that black crystal again. Energy arced from it towards the machine-like monster. Inexorably, it gained ground, and this time the huge thing turned its massive form towards Mercury - and Kanda.
She wasn't slow to seize the advantage of its brief confusion. She answered while she was already moving. "A youma."
Something compelled her to add, "And before that, a human boy." He deserved at least that much recognition, after managing to hold it together even this long.

"Do I kill it?" He didn't have time to ask a hundred questions, he didn't even know what half the names she gave meant. When the thing charged, however, Kinda moved forward to protect the Scout.

Everything in her that's from the Dark Kingdom is ready to say yes. Everything in her that's something more wants to say no.
"If the youma and the person can't be separated." As far as she knows, it's as good as a yes. The power to return someone to normal from this is.... rare, to understate it drastically.

"Surrender or die." He warned before attacking the guy, this time Kanda wasn't holding back.

Well. They could make Zoisite tell them.
"Hmph!" the blond sneered right on cue. "Is Sailor Mercury cheating on her youma boyfriend over there already?" The smug expression changed quickly as he prepared to fight. "As if you'd be a match for a general of the Dark Kingdom!" Palm outward, he sent a strong blast of energy straight for Kanda.
Mercury worked quickly. She glanced at some point between the two combatants, and a heavy mist started to rise over the area, obscuring visibility. She quietly moved in, looking for her chance to try for the crystal. Bunbo, lost, wavered from side to side but stayed in one place as it tried to locate its target.
