[The night is dark and cold. Shinra must have hoped to catch him at a disadvantage with a surprise attack, but thanks to the messenger who arrived with news of their approach, he is ready, and they are at the disadvantage. He can see in the dark.

He sees the troops approach, and suddenly, a wave of weariness washes over him: not physical, but mental. He's so tired of all this, of Shinra. He wants it to be over.

In the wake of the weariness comes anger, and he launches himself forward, moving faster than the eye can see, now. His sword cuts through them before they know what's killed them.]
