The way the question was asked, something about Tomoe's face, made Aerith think she might be making Tomoe uncomfortable. So she nodded. "You could say that." 'The West' was awfully vague, anyway. Maybe Gaia was west of this place, if you started from the right spot ...

"My name's Aerith," she says, inclining her head slightly. Gaia's culture didn't fit strictly into an Eastern-Western divide. "It's nice to meet you, miss." She hoped a show of manners would help smooth things over.
